If he's Kojenets, that's a win.

There's some schedule stuff trickling out, most notably a
home-and-home with La Salle beginning in December. We'll go to
Philly next year. We haven't played them since we lost to them
at MSG in 2013. The Explorers are regularly in or near the
cellar in the A-10, but I'll still take an A-10 team in our
building ... which I don't believe we've had in our 25+ years at
the Division I level. So maybe it's the start of something.
I've long said I'd love to see a CAA/A-10 challenge. Although
A-10 supporters probably wouldn't support that; they've
historically been much better. But just throwing matchups out
there, we go UNCW/St. Louis, Charleston/VCU, Hofstra/St. Joe's,
Towson/George Mason, Stony Brook/Fordham, William &
Mary/Richmond, Northeastern/URI ... there are all kinds of
matches. I think it'd be great.
Also worth noting: Kenny Fields, who VC has us with, is not on
the roster online.

Yes, Checkmate. I also noticed that about Fields. If he truly
is not on the roster, that leaves the team roster count at 12.
So, if not him, WHO?

I have us with two open spots. Somehow I envision the coaching
staff watching games in the Balkans or the Alps identifying
talent and selling them on Stony Brook. The overseas route was
solid for us, and we’ll definitely have an international flavor
again this year.

Per D1 Docket, we'll be at Ohio State on December 15. It won't
be pretty, especially with a banner recruiting class for them,
but a nice few days with the A-10 and B1G opponent on the
ledger.

Two other schedule notes: We'll have home games with freshly
minted D-I schools New Haven and Lindenwood. Ethan Simmon
revenge game omg.

Getting curious: The "official" roster for '26-'27 was recently
posted on the home page. It seems obvious by now that Kenny
Fields is not part of the plan. So, if I still remember how to
count, it looks the roster consists of only 12 players, with no
other legit offers in sight. Am I correct, and if so, is there
some invisible blockbuster offer out there that's going to knock
our socks off!?!

I actually have us at 11, assuming D'Agostino didn't graduate
from walk-on to scholarship player.
Of the 2699 players listed in the VC transfer portal, a little
over 1000 are still without a "new school." Of those, about half
are seniors who may have been looking to gain another year of
eligibility (potentially made more difficult by the NCAA's new
5-in-5 rule). That would leave 500 unsigned players transferring
out of Division I schools. And of course there's the lower
division, juco and international waters. Maybe even high school,
I don't know.
Campbell just signed a kid from Arkansas on Monday, so there's
still time. I too am curious what's next. I suspect
international. But I really don't know anything.

Guess what! I just saw that Kenny Fields has been added to the
official roster!

I haven't watched enough of him, but he feels like a Juwan
White/Kaiden Space/TPP type in terms of minutes. I remember
watching a game or two a year or two ago and him appearing
disinterested in defense. Hope not.
We haven't had a quick yet undersized PG, a la Edmead, McClain,
the UMBC kid going further back, so maybe he's somebody who can
put the defense on its heels on occasion.
