just a guess but the timing of this windfall seems to coincide

Oakes--
Happy to hear about Nahar. I always loved his outside shot, but
felt he never really had a chance at this level. Given his
size, the expectation for him to be a rim protector never
materialized. Hope he finds a fruitful landing spot.
Re; Kenny Fields: He's somewhat of a mystery. He initially
committed to SBU in Nov. 2024, a 6'0" JUCO Guard out of Polk St.
He now shows up as having signed with the Seawolves in November
'25.

I forgot about Fields. He did not appear to be a D-I caliber kid
at Polk State, just on the footage that I saw. Then he wasn't on
the roster, and he popped up at New Mexico JC, where he averaged
6 ppg on 33% shooting. I would be disappointed/surprised if this
came to fruition but I dunno, maybe it does happen.
With the last three spots – if I have it right – I'd be looking
for a wing who can break his guy down with the dribble and
defend, a backup point guard, and then a PF. I basically sub in
Ndjonga for Goods and Vatan for Kojenets. We were light on the
glass last year with those two so could use a Maidoh type.

This is massive. Thank you Herrnstein Foundation! Likely the
primary source of Stony Brook’s much deeper war chest this
offseason.
Herrnstein has donated in the past before. But this is the first
I’ve seen it’s gone directly to Athletics.
I believe Jim Herrnstein is an astrophysicist (among other
things) who helped finance the discovery of the first
supermassive black hole in our galaxy in the 1990s.
Let’s go Seawolves baby!

Yeah, the key there is Renaissance. Their hedge funds made (and
continue to make) unreal gains in the market. If he’s been there
since 1999, we’re talking multi-billionaire. Might be a good
place for Heilbron to hang out in their parking lot around 5pm.
Need to ferret out the sports fans there in Setauket.

Well, it's hard to judge the potential impact of this recruit: a
bit short on stats. But let's be optimistic, and hope for a
true 5 may have been answered.

What I was able to find was the following:
"Played two years for Olimpia EA7 Milano U18 in Italy. Saw
action in several NextGen EuroLeague U18 events, including
averaging 11.3 points, 6.9 rebounds and 1.1 assists during the
Lega Basket Serie A Next Gen Cup in January 2025. Two-time
Italian Cup and Italian League champions. Second place
EuroLeague Adidas NextGen Tournament. Spent the three years
before that in Spain with Club Joventut Badalona where he was
part of a Catalonia and Spanish League champion. Member of the
U16 Italian National team that placed sixth at the 2022 FIBA U16
European Championships.
