At faceoff it was like a man against a boy, all game long. Ugh.
As bad as the game was for the Seawolves, this game was an
exclamation point on just how weak the AE conference has become.
When the conference's top team can do no better than it did
today, that is a WEAK conference. It can only go up from here.

The team played well considering we lacked a faceoff guy. To put
up 9 goals losing just about every faceoff is huge. They'll be a
much improved team next year. An NCAA trrip is what I wanted to
save this season and the team earned it. This means next year
the team can have aspirations of 2nd round or better
Our dominance in the AE I think will continue, at least next
year. The AE was weak this year, no doubt. But we have never
beat a team like Hopkins even in our better years, so I don't
think the strength of the conference would've made a
       difference...

At best we will bring back seasoned players who as sophs or
freshman who already played in an NCAA Tournament Game. I hope
there are few F/O specialists coming in next season that was
ugly to watch this afternoon. Still in a rebuilding year we
made it to the NCAA's and as the announcers pointed out , the
Colgate team that beat UMass was built by Nagle. Things will
       improve.

Next fall, Frank Lucatuorto from Ward Melville is coming in as a
faceoff specialist, though he's shown he can score too. Plus, i
think about 10 more middies are coming in, chance maybe one can
       take faceoffs as well.
The year after that, Kyle Rowe from northern Virginia is a
       faceoff specialist as well.
Gonna be a tall order replacing Moeller, that's the next most
immediate need. I do think we get Greene back for next year
       though.

I wouldn't count on Lucatuorto...he is the #2 faceoff guy on WM
and runs with the 2nd mid line. they claim he is a co #1 but
doesn't get as much run as the real #1
They might have to go the transfer route with that one.

First hand observations from the stands
       By: N Date: May 14, 2012, 9:45 am

I know the SBU-JHU game was televised, but we were in the stands
behind the SBU bench to cheer our team on, which we did. The
game was a learning experience for all, and the coaches will
build on what they witnessed and learned.
Hopkins players were better athletes than SBU. They were always
running full speed. They were all over our boys on offense or
defense. I have to wonder how Navy or others beat Hopkins
considering how well Hopkins played yesterday.
There is no argument that the face offs played a major role in
our loss but I saw too many other problems with our entire game
to just focus on face offs.
So, let us look forward to a new year and rebuilding a new team.
It may be painful but lots must be done to have a NCAA
       competitive team.
best to the players, coaches, and fans of SBU, N
