Greeley tore his ACL. I know I sound like a homer but Ranagan
is overated. Unfortunatley Hopkins is on every week so I had to
watch them, the goalie Bassett is legit and so is defenseman
Durkin. Watch out for mid Guida (small but fast w/big shot)
attckman Benn (canadian plays similiar to McBride, great
finisher) and mid Boland in and out w/injuries but usually plays
big in big games.I have seen Ranagan disapear in some games,
shoots low 20%. They are beatable but coach Petramala has a way
of working the refs with his constant complaining. Need big
effort, anything can happen.

I do think Durkin is the real deal and will be on Rooney. Ive
seen Guida play a few times and he has done well, though he isnt
the team's go to guy. Boland is very talented but yes i think
he was hurt on and off.
Beatable? Some of the Hopkins crowd is already discussing who
might win Lehigh/Maryland.

I'm so sick of hearing about Ranagan from all of these ESPN
announcers...How he won 1st team AA last is beyond me, other
than the Hop bias. He has a grand total of 14 Goals, 7 Assists,
and 14 GB's this year in 14 games. Didn't have the greatest
stats last year either. Sure, he is built like an LB but so is
Robbie Campbell. He is the most overated player in the NCAA.
I'll take my chances with JJ and the slides.
Sunday seems like a great day to shock the world. Lets go
BROOK!!!

Couldn't agree more joewillie, how are you an all american when
your shot% is 16% this year & 21% for career. Here are Ranagans
career #s and you be the judge (he is a junior) 45gms 41g 26a
67pts thats a joke for an aa. Cambell's #s 58gms 81g 54a 132pts
& shoots 40% career who would you pick. Since Ranagan has only
67pts in 3 yrs do not think he will get 65 next yr to equal
Campbell. The best way to shut up Quint & the boys on espn is
to win and send them home.

I have to agree too- been hearing a lot about him and while i do
think he is good, im not sure the gameplay warranted all that
hype. I was wondering the same you are, JW.
I have to say, ive been reading the JHU fans and many are just
way over the top looking past this game. Some are just too smug
to even realize how smug they are. ???
Anyone going to the game???

You think Hop fans really know anything about Stony Brook other
than what Quint tells them?
They know we can't face off, but Laforet has been more
aggressive of late
They look at the schedule and see 7-9 (Can't get around that but
we all know they are better than that now)
Doubt they know we played in 9 one goal games
Do you think they know 2 of our senior leader and captains were
out for 3 and 5 games right in the middle of the schedule?
I wonder if they have even heard of LeVerne and Millican...doubt
it
I'm sure they think Brady is a bum...couldn't hack it at
Duke...but they kid has been playing lights out the past few
weeks
Also, they 1st middies get touted like they are gods...Campbell,
Tundo and Bonanno are no slouches
Not saying the Brook is going to win or even keep it close but
they play the games for a reason and I'll glad it is this
Sunday, not back in March.

No, which is precisely why i predicted they will pole Campbell.
8)
Brady has been lights out. Really, Millican has been lights out
too. And Laforet could been in the running for most improved on
the team.
What a great call by Nagle to put Tundo at midfield, he really
has the tools to do it all. Anyone notice that he scored 3 of
his 4 lefty??? :P

I love the midfield line too...they can all invert to X. If
Campbell could only go lefty he would be unstopable and Tundo
and Bonanno are great both righty and lefty. Even going all
right Campbell finds a way to get his shot off in traffic.

Speaking of traffic, ive seen about 10 games this year, and Mike
Rooney has picked up ground balls in heavy traffic every game-
against longsticks, mind you- and when carrying, he protects his
stick like a veteran.
Ive rarely seen such good skills and poise from such a young
guy, its impressive. He's got six hat tricks as a RS FR, leads
the team in scoring, put up something like 300pts in high
school, was All America, and turned out to be an All County QB
as well.

I know Rooney had 70+ goals as a jr, which was more than
Galasso...of course Galasso have 66 goals and 70 assists.
