A two games suspension seems fair. It would not surprise me if
he got a third game that carried over into the tournament. It’s
a shame because I think it’s probably the only time the New York
Post ran a story on the team all year.

Heilbron said just Saturday in his IG post. I'd be surprised he
did a string bet and suspended him for Tuesday too.
Conference player of the year chances are certainly dashed now;
a standout effort against his closest competitor – Davis – on
Saturday could have swung it.
We're looking at being double-digit dogs now. And as a team, my
sense is that 6 or 7 are likely, although as you can see here,
the 8's in play also

Bad timing with Hofstra, but got off luck with the 1 game. A
little odd that SBU delivered the msg on behalf of the CAA, as
if SBU was doing the suspending.

Biased fan, lucky it was only one game. Unbiased observer, it
should’ve been more.
Hopefully, it will motivate the rest of the team to pull a
rabbit out of their hat on Saturday, and hopefully Pratt will be
motivated to redeem himself on Tuesday and into the tournament

He’s lucky he only got a one game suspension in my opinion.

Ok now that he's been suspended I will say that if it happened
against us, I would push for 3 games at least... so just 1 is a
blessing. I didn't want to say this beforehand in case the CAA
Office was stalking our forum, lol! You just can't do that to a
fan, it would even be less egregious to do it to a player
because you're "peers", but doing it to a fan is closer to
Malice at the Palace territory than you want.
I do vaguely recall a post made very early in the year implying
that Pratt had some potential personality issues but since there
was nothing notable this season I just shrugged that off as
hearsay.

I honestly thought he was going to get two. Lets be real. He
deserved more than one game. Its unacceptable to do something
like that. Embarassed himself, the program, and our University.
Someone jawing at you? so what. Athletes take all sorts of
verbal aggression game in game out. Yes, its not nice to be
insulted verbally. But spitting is crossing the line big time.
I hope he learns his lesson.

Oof.
What Pratt did was unacceptable and embarrassed the university
and couldn't have come at at worse time...talk about the
momentum swing of the loss to Monmouth plus losing Pratt for the
Hofstra game plus the dark cloud over the team and university
now.
1 game suspension does feel about right.
The comments on the NY Post article are disgusting, however.
Wow. Most of those people clearly aren't fit to be commenting
on decorum, manners, class, how someone was raised, etc. Wow.
But, not surprising.
I will say...and this does not excuse what he did...you expect
multimillionaire athletes be able to put up with all kinds of
fan abuse, and many argue they should just take it (unless it
crosses certain lines) as they're compensated to an extreme
level and getting heckled is part of the difficult job they are
royally paid for. But mid major college athletes aren't really
in a position of power relative to the fans...in most cases the
fans are wealthier than the players, and the players are just
student athletes trying to have fun and maybe help pay for
college tuition. I'm not really a heckler (but I am a voracious
cheerer/boo-er)...though I have heckled pro athletes as far as
group/arena chants (but never a direct personal type
interaction)...it would never occur to me to heckle a college
kid playing a sport. Maybe because I am an adult. But even back
when I was a student attending Stony Brook games, it never
occurred to me to personally berate an opposition player.
All of that said, still unacceptable. It wouldn't feel right if
he wasn't suspended.
