Here's a question ... if we get a top four seed in the CAAs, is
Geno the Coach of the Year favorite? Does it come down to him,
Rice (Monmouth) and Siddle (UNCW)?
I don’t see that happening. The team’s current RPI is 177 and
NET at 210. I don’t know of a coach in any conference that
deserves COY with those results unless they took over from a
true bottom dweller.
If SB manages to win out they'll secure the three seed, possibly
the two. Gotta give Geno COY if he pulls that off. That said,
there's a lot of basketball to be played between now and then.

Amazing character win.
First they figure out how to play without O'Connor, then they
learn how to play when everybody keys on Pratt.
We see a team growing and getting better. College coaching
staffs are graded on winning but that doesn't happen without
growth. You can argue everyone on the roster is playing much
better than they were a couple of months ago.
By the way. the sports staff at Statesman has broken away and
begun its own site called the Sideline, affiliating with WUSB,
so we're not just airing the games, we're writing about them
too. Now free of the dysfunctional Statesman strictures, they're
off and running.

Take preseason polls with a grain of salt, but we were picked to
finish 11th, and shortly thereafter we lost our all-conference
caliber point guard. And here we are in prime position to get a
double bye. I'd think Geno would be very much in the discussion
if we finish strong ... but if UNCW runs the table and finishes
16-2 (strong possibility), or Monmouth finishes in the top two,
maybe he comes up short.
According to The Seahawk Perch, after Monday's win, we have a
42% chance of getting a top 4 seed.

yeah ill just temper this all with the following- the way the
CAA is structured right now, a bad week (maybe 2 losses?) can
set us all the way back down to 9. but you all know that. im
just the parade rainer.

If Geno were to get COY then the AD would want to give him
another three year extension…and we know how the AD’s extensions
have worked out. Be careful what you wish for.
