Non-competitive is exactly right. Just a good ol' fashioned butt
whuppin'. Shooting well is one thing (and UA cooled a bit later
in the second half) but boy UA just manhandled SBU around the
basket.
I guess UA did have some pressure defense working, but it seemed
SBU pretty regularly abandoned good ball movement in favor of
iso for Pratt. Did UA expose some very glaring weaknesses in
this team, or was this one of those down games Chairman noted we
will see and we just move on? Just very strange and
disappointing to watch.

Missed this one. Had to be hideous. 45-30 on the glass after
dominating it against CMU. We’ve now been outrebounded in eight
of 10 D-I games, and a few like this were pretty lopsided.
I find it interesting that Geno felt the need to play Pratt for
39 minutes. Of course Lindsey played all 40 for UA.
It’s also so strange how Shoshkikj can go from 21 points one
night where he looked like a world beater to a bagel.
Jarring loss. But still 8-4 with a good opportunity this
weekend.

Just zoomed through the game. Okeke was just so much thicker
than anybody we had. I was surprised the paint points disparity
was only 30-22. I'm not surprised by the rebounding. We settled
for shots and had nobody underneath way too many times.
Defensively, their hands were so active, and they picked us up
at the hashes and made us work for everything. And then you go
to the other side of the court, and we're just so lax by
comparison, in large part due to personnel. This was a tough
draw for Shoshkikj on both ends. Him keeping Lindsey in front of
him? Forget it. Lindsey is going to be awesome for them in the
conference season, and even guys like Taylor and Rose off the
bench were great pieces. Rose is a shadow on defense.

Our bigs just got outmatched. Felt like Gorman, Valentiny,
Kojenets, whoever we had in as our interior presence got treated
like turnstiles the whole game. When Albany started to push it
to a multi-possession lead in the first half, you could see the
desperation kick in because the ball movement just stopped and
we started chucking.
Again, we went 8-0 in the first minute or so too! It seemed like
an easy cruise control victory to start!
