I'm not going to lie, I don't know a whole lot about these guys,
I didn't watch any footage, and the game starts in 12 hours, so
this is going to be superficial.
       • For us, we cross paths once more with the Heady brothers, who
are probably still scratching their heads about the time their
team last year, Central Michigan, let O'Connor get to the rack
and score to beat them at their place. It was the start of a
       lost year in Mount Pleasant.
       • Hey, let's give it up for their head coach Reggie Theus, an
all-time good stats, bad team guy. More than 19,000 points, 13
years in the league, and just four playoff wins.
       • Fun fact: B-C took 12 of 22 first-place votes in this year's
SWAC preseason poll. Others were scattered among No. 2 Southern
       (5), No. 3 Jackson State (1), No. 4 Alabama State (3) and,
finally, one first-place vote for Arkansas Pine Bluff, who was
picked to finished 11th out of 12 teams. I don't think I've ever
seen that before. And they may need to put an APB out on APB's
lone believer as the Lions have started the year 0-8 and lost by
an average of 29 points per game. Just kinda funny.
       • What worries me about the team we're about to face is that
they took Auburn – AUBURN – to overtime. They led with two
minutes left. The Dayton result was a little cosmetic, but it's
still a nine-point margin against a good team in front of more
than 13,000 fans. Sooo we're going to go to their backyard and
win? Granted, Jacksonville did, but it's hard to imagine.
       • 32 threes, 25 twos against Pacific. You have to take what the
defense gives you, especially without a real offensive guy in
the middle, but that's a pretty ghastly margin.
       • I've said it before: How are we going to be able to rebound?
B-C's been outrebounded in every game but their sub D-I contest,
yet still competed against high-quality teams. Pacific had a
32-8 advantage in paint points. Can we right that?
This feels like an L but a split down there would be a terrific
       result.

Are we getting to the point where we don't mind Goods shooting
from 3? 5-9 from 3 vs D1 and 2-3 each of his last 2 games.
Kind've grasping at straws to find something positive after
yesterday but if I had told you Goods would have 17 assists to 6
turnovers and be 6-13 from 3 over his first 6 games you'd have
been very optimistic about this team.

Follow up, Valentiny and Gorman combined for 38 minutes at the
PF position yesterday and came down with 0 defensive rebounds.
       How does that happen??

Two fouls on Pratt after a quick start. Gotta survive these next
       eight minutes.
12 of our 17 attempts have been from three. We're up though..

BTW, you can listen to the BCU broadcast here. They just called
our shooting yesterday "one of the worst shooting nights
       [they've] ever seen." How nice.
15-0 BCU run to end the half. We're down 11.

My gosh, poor shooting by both teams with SBU being dreadfully
       poor.
Are they playing outside, next to the windy seashore, down
       there?

I'd have a better idea if I had Baller TV. Too much going on to
watch these midday games. The free radio broadcast will have to
do. They do a nice job actually.
I just think shooting can cover up blemishes a lot of the time.
We hung with Yale thanks in part to 13 threes. We shot it well
against Brown. This week we haven't shot it well, and we haven't
made up for it in other areas. We're trying to crawl back into
       it though.

No we know why they've been playing bad. Checkmate took his eye
       off the game.

Four points in the paint in the first half, 14 in the second.
3 for 17 from three in the first half, 3 for 6 in the second.
