Al Rapier Hypothetical

Would anyone else be interested in seeing Rapier redshirt this
season to work on his jumper? With his size and handle I think
he could be an all conference player if he had a consistent
jumper out to 20 feet. I know it's unusual to redshirt seniors
or even juco transfers in general (so this will not happen), but
I think he could be pretty special if he spent another year
putting a couple hundred shots a day in the gym.
Hopefully his mid range game is already much improved from last
season.

Very interesting out of the box thinking, but my sense is that
we are on a recruiting high right now and we might see someone
with talent and atleticism above and beyond what Rapier has
demonstrated thus far. Was really high on this guy coming in,
and hop he can take a major step forward this year.

He certainly has talent . He really needs to improve on the free
throw line. Playing inside alot he gets fouled but misses
those charity buckets.

Looks like Rapier put in the necessary work, as he has certainly
improved from last year. One thing to keep in mind with Juco's
is that it usually takes awhile (in most cases) for them to get
comfortable with the difference in D1 hoops. Usually, the
transition is easier for bigs than it is for wings/guards, and
you are seeing this right now with Bracey as he struggles to
make the transition. Defensively the game is very different the
further away from the basket you play, and that's where I think
Bracey is having some issues (as well as learning where and how
to get his shots). Rapier's improvement should give you hope
that Bracey will come around in time...actually, I like (at
times, especially against bigger opponents) using Rapier for a
few minutes at the 4 position, as he's your best frontcourt
scorer.
