       Abbreviated version today.
Note the weird start time. On Baller TV. ???
       I watched a little of Pacific's last game and ... they're all
right? Ralph filled the boxscore and can score in a number of
ways but I don't see him as someone who just takes over a game.
Kublickas was a bit player at Florida, and just on the surface,
I thought he was their second best guy. But we'll see.
Dave Smart's in his second year with the team, going 9-24 last
year. He was a decorated coach in Canada and has used that
connection to recruit pretty much their whole nucleus – Ralph,
Pitt, Clayton and two behemoths in the middle, Isaac Jack
(6-11/250) and KC Ibekwe (6-11/285). Ibekwe is a dead ringer for
John "Hot Plate" Williams from yesteryear. Neither is this
force, but it does beg the question what Kojenets for an
extended period looks like. Beyond those guys, the team's pretty
       slight.
I see the Pacific radio crew will be on hand for this one. It's
a shame we don't have a broadcast for road games. Yeah, I don't
know how many people would tune in and it's so easy to just
listen to the TV broadcast from wherever you are. It just feels
       JV to not have one.
As I said, this is a nice test for us as we go up against some
real teams in a row. Pacific's a good starter dish. Let's see
       what we have.

First toss up game of the year. Lets get a W! Is this a
tournament? If we win would we play someone tomorrow?

Not a tournament; a multi-team event with no crowned winner.
Quick turnaround though. We'll get either Bethune-Cookman
(KenPom 186) or Jacksonville (266) tomorrow at 11 or 1. And then
out to LA for a tip with Loyola Marymount, who's somehow
shooting 42 percent from three yet 56 percent at the free throw
       line.
I'd imagine people in Pacific are saying "I've never heard of
Stony Brook" and we're like "what's this Pacific place?" and the
both of us are wondering "where the heck is Bethune-Cookman?" I
see now that they're in Daytona and are the hosts. Had no idea.
And yes, all parties, including us, will ponder "what's a
       seawolf?"

Sluggish start by SBU, and an oh-fer from Pratt as I write this.
The under 30% FG stat feels like a throwback to recent teams.
       Random UoP thoughts:
An extended member of my family played at UoP back in the 70s.
They have a long D1 history and were somewhat notable back in
the 60s/70s as one of the better West Coast teams after UCLA.
Former Knick John Gianelli played there.
More famously/infamously former NBA #1 Michael Olowokandi played
       there.
The UoP campus is nice, but don't plan any vacations to the city
       of Stockton.
I see a couple of former nearby friends play there now: Clayton
from Maine and Capriotti from Bing (who doesn't seem to play)

About as bad as we can play. Turnover every possession on
offense and foul every possession on defense.

When we're the only game going on, I like to go on X to see what
gambling degenerates are saying. Today we had:
Stony brook is dog water lmao.
What was I thinking man of course bum ass stony brook isn’t
       beating pacific
Man why tf did I add Stony Brook to my ticket
Whoever Erik Pratt is on Stony Brook is pure ass
Whole team should be thrown in a meat grinder
You see this kind of stuff with MACtion a lot of the time.
People are really out there just throwing darts :D
There were some others that don't meet the board's code of
conduct. Sobering loss for us for sure. To get outrebounded
34-21, have the opponent make 2/3 of their shots, and us only
       1/3 of ours, yikes.

That little glimmer of SBU optimism we may have had just came
       crashing down. *sigh*

Teams do get their butts kicked every now and then. It's a
little more concerning because we have earmarked the Farmingdale
game as something that we're capable of. But then we saw two
double-digit wins over lower-end Division Is, a massacre of a
Division III and a close loss to a good Yale team.
If we come back and get blasted by Bethune-Cookman, we can
revisit. I'm worried we will. B-C isn't bad. But judging by the
last couple weeks, I know we have a better performance in us
       too.
