10 Men's DI Teams That Will Improve in 2026

       Stony Brook (7-7)
The Seawolves beat Rutgers to start 2025, and a series of close
losses could have gone another way. Consider how much the
seven-day stretch from March 15-22 could have turned their
season: They lost 13-12 to Hofstra and Towson with a combined
three overtimes. They lost 15-14 to Drexel two weeks later. The
cause for optimism is simply how young they were and how much a
year of those close games forges a team; sometimes you need to
learn experience losing close to learn to win close.

Stony Brook Adds Mike Daly to Coaching Staff

[quote]Stony Brook added a few championships to its coaching
       staff.
Anthony Gilardi finalized his 2026 staff, adding Mike Daly as
defensive coordinator. Daly led Tufts to three NCAA
championships (2010, ’14, ’15) before taking over at Brown for
eight seasons. Daly most recently served as the Director of
       Player Development at Maryland.
Daly replaces JP Brazel, who had been with the Seawolves since
2019 and is a fixture of Long Island coaching.
Mike Chanenchuk is now the associate head coach and has led the
offense since 2019. Quintin Germain (assistant coach) and Joe
Fallon (Director of Player Development) fill out the staff for
the Seawolves, who start their season Feb. 6 at Sacred Heart
after a pair of scrimmages in the coming weeks.

He transferred because like we have been saying. The coach
doesn’t care about his players, at all. Ask Riley, who went to
Sienna. Ask Sebella how he felt after the last game. Ask any
transfer, this coach openly tells kids he says anything to get
them to come. If you not in his top 5, you could die for all he
cares. Desi, should have been a rock star, good for him to jump
       to a good program.

Another season opening loss to Sacred Heart. This coach has not
moved the needle at all since he was brought on years ago. It’s
unacceptable at this point. The program is stagnant.

No you’re wrong. He has moved the needle. The wrong way. He
inherited kids that got to the CAA championship. He did nothing.
Look at his recruitments. 2022 class he lost the entire
freshman group due to being expelled. 2023 class almost all have
left through portal. 2024 class is mediocre. 2025 class even
more mediocre. Our program has gone backwards soooooo fast. He
coached team USA, they lost. He is hated by his players, I am
speaking from first hand knowledge. He is known by us a used car
       salesmen.

       end of Q1, RU 5 SB 3.
we look eh. keep in mind RU is #18.
struggle at the faceoff- after going 1/6 we put an LSM out
       there, but didnt work.
otherwise i dont understand how we can get trailchecked 3 times
in one quarter, at the division I level (hanging the stick).
players should know by now that if they make a break, someone is
       chasing you.

forde came in for faceoffs, and its marginally better.
       also another trail check.
we dropped into a zone for a minute there but RU figured it out.
were down 9-4 at half and it feels like it should be worse- we
       are getting worked.
