       Is the tide turning?

       OK, gents,
This Binghamton game shows many changes and improvements with
our lax team. First, lots of personnel and play changes. AND
look at the score, holding Binghamton to just 5 goals, some
defense. Nice plays on attack to keep the game rolling for us.
Best to SBU, the players , the coaches, the fans
       best, N

Another win. 2-0 in conference play. Its good to know we are
still one of the better teams in the conference. I couldn't get
the live stats running today but from the press release it seems
like our freshman Rooney had a big night.
I'm glad the wins are coming. Up next :UMBC!
I can't wait for the Yale and Hartford matchups!

Big victory margin considering Binghamton dominated at faceoffs.
Makes me wonder how good this team would be if it could just win
50% of its FOs. With guys like Rooney and Brady coming back next
year, the future looks bright. Just need a good FO guy.

It sucks that we lost 4 one goal games but at the end of the day
if the Brook takes care of buiness in the AE they will be
dancing. UMBC will a great test this weekend. They now seem
to be everyone's (the so called experts) choice to win the AE.
First it was Hartford, now in is UMBC and in the end let it be
       the Seawolves.
Rooney is on fire but it's great to have Campbell back. He is
still leading the team in PPG and I have a feeling we would have
one another game or two if he wasn't injured. It looks like
Laforet misses last nights game...I wonder if he is injured?

It was an impressive win. Beat UMBC and we will be in
       good shape.

Let me add this- and perhaps im stretching things a bit but work
with me- losses like UVa are sort of "written off" as its the #1
team in the country. Towson is forgivable, heck they may even
       end up a tourney team.
Losses like Fairfield and Bryant are starting to not look so bad
based on those teams season so far. Take a look at Bryant's
record, who they lost to and by what score, you may be
impressed. Fairfield too. Even Siena is on a six game tear
       right now.
And just this past wkd, SJU upset GTown and Marist took Duke to
the brink in Koskinen. SJU also beat Rutgers and took Cuse to a
one goal game. I know, the Big East isnt what it used to be,
       specifically GT/Cuse/RU.
Sure, SB faithful are upset with so many losses, but as the
picture gets clearer, maybe these opponents are catching up to
traditional contenders. Throw in a bunch of 1 goal / overtime
losses, to a team with heavy graduation losses, a new coaching
staff, and a few key injuries. Now a late season turnaround
where the AQ is on the line, and maybe the picture isnt all that
       bad.

       Some quotes from Binghamton
       By: N Date: April 11, 2012, 9:33 am
       ---------------------------------------------------------
       This is from Binghamton:
"Nelson said Stony Brook’s defense troubled his team throughout
       the match.
“Probably as good of a defense that I’ve seen in a couple years
out of anybody,” Nelson said. “I think their system is coming
together down there, and our lack of offensive threats was a
perfect storm for them to do really well against us. We didn’t
challenge them in situations and they slid very well and helped
       each other very well.”
The Seawolves outscored Binghamton 5-1 in the third quarter and
extended their lead to seven goals.
The Bearcats did not lack in shooting as they recorded 48 shots
in the game, but just could not slip enough into the net."
OK SBU, the team, the coaches, and the fans; keep up the great
       work!

       A great win against UMBC
       By: N Date: April 14, 2012, 9:21 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
Look at the stats and scoring to judge this game. The defense
was great until some broken plays and faceoffs that allowed UMBC
to get several goals. The lapses on these broken plays were
devastating. HOWEVER, our team regrouped and WON. This is a
big win because UMBC is a good, strong team that we held to 2
goals for the entire first half. Also, Don Zimmerman, the UMBC
coach is one of the best in the USA and you need to always
       respect him.
Congratulations and well done to the SBU players, coaches, and
       fans.

Oh my. They held. I was going crazy as I heard the live feed.
Leading 9-2 and then five straight goals in a three minute
period. Stony Brook Dominated for three quarters but UMBC did a
great job getting into the game. A win is a win and I'll take
       it!

So the bad first- blowing a 7 goal lead late in a game (remember
earlier in the season when they blew a lead in every loss).
Good news now- SB in the driver's seat, configuration with
Watson on attack is working, three big conference wins, Brady is
playing well, Alumni Day approaching, Rooney for Canine
       Conference RoY. :P
