2026 Recruiting
By: Checkmate Date: July 1, 2025, 3:12 pm

I noticed a little earlier that other CAA schools had a lot of
offers out, but we were a little light in that regard. We have
an offer out to Malik Gillespie, 6-1 G, Warner Robins, GA, who
looks good to me.

The portal's going to make every year the wild west, but next
offseason may be even wilder with our coaching potentially in
flux ... or maybe Heilbron covertly gave Geno an extension
again.

Don't know whether or not the Seawolves have any shot at all of
snagging them, but it looks like there are also offers out for
Dywane Chess and Jackson Williams (both highly sought after).

Just noticed there was offer made to a 7'0" C from Monroe
College--Riley Dunn. He's out of Australia. Any insight?

We're only seeing the positives here, but a 7-footer who can
post up, put it on the floor and shoot it a bit? If you squint,
you see Fitz. Easy [emoji106] for me.

all true. i saw a lot of penetration- which is great- but i
want to see paint presence.
then again, that's just me. we have enough ball handlers.

Quiet board just a couple weeks ahead of the opening tip.
Kasen Daeger's a Seawolf. 6-3 SG out of Indiana. There isn't
much tape on him online, which is a little concerning. I'd say
he's a little small for the SG spot, but Luster and others have
fared well enough. He has Division I talent around him, with one
committed to Richmond, and a junior who seems like he'll be a
high major PG.

I'm going to stay this we see Geno, as much as I criticize him,
he continues to pull talent out of the Mid-West that has been
overlooked from the Portal. I will say this, I wish he could
work the Tri-State HS recruiting a little better.

I know that it's been difficult to find tape on Kasen Daeger
(SBU's only 2026 commitment so far). I'm sure this is due to
his long absence this past season due to an ankle injury.
Apparently he has fully recovered, and was once again a sought
after prospect.
I was able to find to find the following video, and if it'd
indicative of what he can do, the Seawolves will be lucky to
have him. Watch #10.
