yes, and while we are at it, lets get 2 or 3 more of this guy.
does he have 3 years left?

So ... we have to take this as a win. CJ Luster narrowed his
list to 10 schools, and we're one of them, alongside the likes
of UCLA, Arizona State, LSU, New Mexico, UNCW, BC, Loyola
Marymount and a couple programs whose logos I don't recognize. I
have to think we're a dark horse at best but maybe?

Goods seems to be a proven CAA level player and my guess is that
he will be a "game one" starter. SB still needs at least two
more forwards/center from the portal. I'm not sure either Gorman
or Nahar are ready for prime time, though they have an
off-season to improve. Nahar is the better long-range scorer,
but Gorman seems like the better overall player, and showed some
flashes towards the end of the season.

       Oof. Luster to UNCW.
       Seahawks pillaging the lesser programs.

       Evil. Evil. Evil.
Inter-conference transfers should be restricted, it'd be one
thing if he left to show off his talents to the A10 but staying
in the same conference? Screw that.
UNCW also got Towson's Christian May and NCA&T's Jonathan
Lamonthe. That's horrible. It's basically UNCW just spitting in
our face and telling us to remain at the bottom because they
have all the leverage over us. Horrifying.

Reported that SBU has signed 7'0" F Oleg Kojenets, who played in
limited action, at both Nebraska and Wyoming. Not sure whether
he'll be a senior or junior. I'm hoping he's not another
feckless big man we've labeled a "project" in the past. But
this one looks like he may fit our needs, and was once highly
rated as a 3* recruit. So, let's hope for the best.
       What's your take, Checkmate?

       From Coach Sundance Wicks:
"Oleg has to understand that he is 7 feet tall," Wicks said. "I
tell him that sometimes he wants to play like a guard, he wants
to swipe down and try to use his hands a lot. I'm like, dude,
you're like the Sears Tower over there. You've just got to be
big and let everybody know that you're big. Make them shoot over
you, and if they finish over you good luck, God bless.

"He's a monster and he's got creature features and we're trying
to get him to use it."

First off, great use of “feckless.” Underused word. And nobody
can read that word and think that it’s a compliment lol. We have
       indeed had some feckless bigs.
Native Lithuanian but another Ohio kid for Geno as he went to
Western Reserve, the same prep school as O’Connor.
We needed some chops inside and we brought in Kojenets
(KO-ye-nets as far as I can tell) and Goods to go with Nahar and
Gorman. From what I can tell, big kid, limited range, a little
oafy but moves OK, will rebound a little. He looks a willing PnR
roll guy with some touch around the rim.
Wyoming message boarders were not terribly disappointed to see
him hit the portal and at least one said he was D-II caliber.
       Some of their takes …
“He's had a couple flashes of showing that he can play at the D1
level, but they are few and far between. I'd say the only things
he's got going for him are that he's 7 feet tall and is a good
free throw shooter. The rest of his game is VERY rudimentary.”
       😬
“I am glad he found a home honestly...and equally if not more
glad he is gone from UW.” 😬😬
“Kornnuts has hands of stone, but he runs like a newborn Giraffe
       on acid.” 😬😬😬
“Believe he has a good reputation for showing up to practice on
       time.” 😂😬😐
This feels like a slightly better version of Alonzo Campbell to
me. Which is to say a serviceable if unspectacular CAA-level
big. Realistically, we can’t expect a program at our level to
recruit skilled seven footers, not now, not ever. And if we ever
do, they’ll be gone in a year.
It’s amusing to watch SB media’s signing video because his mom
looks tiny next to him but she’s 6-6! Looks like they’re excited
for him though so welcome aboard 👍🏼

Thanks Checkmate. Sooooooo...looks like another "PROJECT" to
       me!
       On another front:
Stony Brook forward Andre Snoddy has entered the Transfer Portal
       @On3sports
       has learned
YIKES!! You mean we could have had him for another year?
