Some thoughts after clicking the link and taking it in.
What a telling and terrible picture to start the article. What
are there, 10-15 people scattered in the stands for a home game?
Awful.
"Head Coach Geno Ford did not speak to the media after the
game." My gosh, if your program is in control with a
vision/plan, even after a bad game or during a down year, don't
you/can't you say something? Obviously not. I know, what is
there to say at this point? Just a terrible look for the program
overall.
Noticeable too as a season ticket holder this season: recently
there have been perks that came my way. Nothing huge, more just
nice gestures like a comp invitation to the Seawolves den, or
last season a few coach "chalk talks" before games. Nothing this
season. Again, none of these things were big deals, but it was
nice to be offered a few small things along the way (yes, I got
my season ticket gift hat to start the year, and that was
something early on). Besides the dreadful performance from the
team, there has just been an overall feeling of gray this
season. The ticket holders I know are not coming to games
(myself included). Just bad, bad, bad.
What happens after the final game? "We need to do better, we
will do better"? Oh boy...

When there are more cheerleaders at the game than fans…

i know the kids are working hard and so is the admin but the
product here- it feels a bit mailed in.
26k students and we couldnt even fill pritchard, let alone the
edifice formerly known as IFCU.
the irony- the only person who has the right idea, was just
sunsetted, as our president.

PS- though there are a few games left, here are the stats:
HTML https://stonybrookathletics.com/sports/mens-basketball/stats
12 home games / total attendance 23823 / 1985 avg (50% full)
for comparison, opponents average 2835 per game, about a
thousand more than us

I think we should all write to new president and let her know
that we're not satisfied with Heilbron's performance,
specifically his extensions for head coaches who doesn't deserve
it. She has to know that keeping Heilbron would upset the
fanbase.
I liked McCormick, but then i learned that he was 77 so the
school didn't see him as a long term solution, and McCormick
himself probably just came out of a 12 yr retirement for the
hell of it and didn't want to stick around either.

Yes people should write to the new president and lay it out for
her. cleanout all of the administrators in sports. they are
terrible and the empty seats prove it. Heilbronn should have
been thrown out years ago.

These are not real numbers. When our daughter was there the SID
would make up a number and that is how many they would say were
at the game. it was always exaggerated. The Statesman picture is
perfect because it tells the story.
