What's really too bad is we don't even have guys to put in.
Philip's obviously out, I assume Gorman is the same, still no
Octave or TO, so instead of getting guys reps, you have to roll
with your starters. Meanwhile, everybody on Hampton has fresh
legs because they've played 11 guys.
2-3 zone is the right call. Let's just get out of here.

down 30 late in the game. some other salt in the wound-
outrebounded 36-24
assists 18-8
16-7 TOs
steals 12-5
points in the paint- 34 to 12 (the most damning?)
oh and the announcer called us seahawks. another reminder to
just drop this silly mascot.

Geez I had never even considered the option of dropping the
seawolf mascot name. Probably makes sense in the long run.
Anyway. new candidate for worst loss of the year?

81 to 49. Hot damn. Feels more like a 42 point loss than a 32
point loss.
I don't care about the finances, at this point salvaging our
reputation is more important than saving money and Geno is
actively hurting us with seasons like this. He got lucky with 3
days in March featuring a senior-heavy roster. Okay? That still
didn't give me the confidence to keep him longterm and the thing
is we all knew that!

well its certainly made worse by the U encouraging everyone to
wear shirts asking what is a seawolf. and then not really
answering it. the U gets mocked relentlessly by locals and even
its own people for decades. and that was before this
changeover- we didnt need to add to the pile. and then
highlight it with a careless slogan. just go back to patriots
or baymen and be done with it.
yes, one of the worst- we were down 34 late... to hampton. and
with that said, i DO think we can actually beat hofstra (in that
projected bracket they flashed on the screen).

The university is too pot committed on Wolfie. They just put up
a statue of him someplace, presumably as a place where students
can take photos for social media. It's a weird name, but I'm
whatever on it.
Hampton is a terror. They ooze energy and athleticism, they've
got a few shotmakers, and they do not relent. Way way better
than us. With the entire roster healthy, we lose that game
eight, maybe nine times out of 10 on a neutral floor. The CAA
tournament is wide open.
If we beat Hofstra on Thursday, please spare me with the "Long
Island's team" nonsense.

I don't hate Seawolves. At least it's unique and better than
being the 500th Wildcats. It's easy to mess up the spelling of
it as Sea Wolves, but that has to do with lack of brand
recognition more than anything else. More popular schools have
their name spellings so firmly established in the national
culture.

Amusing subplot: Because we were the only game happening this
afternoon, and because we lost by 32, some gambling savages have
been particularly outspoken on X.
"Pathetic, outcoached" etc
"they [played] like a team that's never played basketball"
"Well this Stony Brook vs Hampton game is mad fixed Stony Brook
playing for Vegas, they were clearly told to get their asses
kicked and lose by 25+."
"Wish there was a line for stony brook turnovers. I’d def take
20+"
"Got the worst bet of the week out of the way already Shoutout
Stony Brook"
"This Stony Brook team is legit awful"
And some worse stuff.
Just not a good basketball team. We're down to 339 in KenPom,
now six spots behind 3-26 Green Bay and 10 behind 3-25 East
Texas A&M, which I'm just now learning exists.
