Any thoughts that Towson, the CAA preseason favorite, wasn't
going to at least compete for the title can be put away for now.
To be fair, the doubt was warranted after they lost six
straight, including to the likes of UMBC, Robert Morris and
Kennesaw State, but they've rounded into shape here in
conference play, going 4-1 against a bear of an opening
schedule, the lone loss of the narrow variety at Charleston.
It's just a hard-nosed group led by Skerry, who's always going
to have them competing defensively and absolutely attacking the
offensive glass. For the latter, consider that, in the last five
years leading up to this, Towson grabbed 498 more offensive
rebounds than their opponents, and this year – already – they're
plus 74 in that category. And for a team that isn't the most
gifted offensively, all those extra possessions can mean the
       difference in a close game.
Let's talk about their depth though. The five above you should
know – they were all here last year and were all ranked in the
top six in scoring average. But then you tack on Messiah Jones,
7th last year, 7th again; Mekhi Lowery, 8th last year, 6th this
year; Caleb Embeya, a springy freshman who gives them much
needed size inside. And then there's Abdou Samb, who started 17
games at URI as a freshman, and Rahdir Hicks, who's playing game
number 75 in a Towson uniform on Saturday and is a serviceable
backup PG. Skerry has no shortage of options when he looks down
his bench. Consider Towson's reserved outscored Drexel's bench
       ...
       [move]SIXTY-EIGHT TO SIX[/move]
... in their OT win last weekend. It was 27-11 yesterday against
Hofstra (on Dollar Beer night!), 26-7 in a loss to traditionally
       deep Charleston. Pretty good.
Love Tejada – a shooter with size who's found his rhythm a bit
in conference play. He can score on all three levels; really
good player. Williamson's a dynamic guard who has popped off for
20 or more in five games this season. I'd say there isn't this
grade A offensive talent, but a lot of Bs who are workmanlike in
       how they go about things.
You'd have to go back to Jan-Feb 2008 for the last time we lost
seven games in a row – in fact, the drought was 10 games in a
season that ended with us at 7-23. It's hard to see us going
into Towson and winning, but perhaps next week with two home
games on tap. You hope anyway.

Awesome half. Defended and rebounded our tails off. Good
rotations, good closeouts, doubling in the post, we’re flying
around. Tejada 0 for 5 with zero points – outstanding. We got
some help with Towson misfiring from three, and some of our poor
looks dropping, but we’re in a great spot.
I expect Towson to get into the key this second half, and at
       least flash a press.

We only gave up 19 points in a half? Is this real?

This is even more frustrating than the 2022-23 season because
we'd win so many more games this year if they were only 30
minutes long. As least that year we just got consistently
obliterated and didn't give me any hope.

The team is 4/15 and don't have any conference wins. the kids
are talking and complain about the coach doesn't care and he
doesn't run practice the assistants do and that is how he has
been doing things. no one goes to games there is a long way from
when coach pikel was here they are two real different people.
good for you for watching but its been close to ten years since
the program was exciting and there isn't any signs that it will
       be better soon.

This is Priore like futility- haven’t seen a record like this
since the mid-2000s when the team barely could draw in the early
Pikiell years when he was rebuilding.
Like the successful football reboot it’s time for change in the
hoops program. I’ve never been a Ford fan personally but his
weaknesses are even more obvious in this transfer portal era
where coaching is even more valuable.
