But I thought the defense was great....no way lewis watches the
film and doesn't make changes..you had d-lineman making tackles
downfield because the LBs were getting blown off the ball.

In so many of these games, it's just impossible to overcome the
size disparity in the trenches. When they average 330 on the
O-line and we're at 260 across ours, it's tough to scheme your
way out of that for four quarters. Teams can run it on 2nd and
8, 3rd and 6, and move the sticks. Marshall was no different
last year really.
Still, that offense was pretty putrid. One pass play of more
than five yards.

Dempster was still pretty impressive. A lot of yards after
contact. 4.1 yards per carry when the offense was only getting
1.8 per play is pretty great.

Dempster is awesome. That's obvious and SB is lucky that he
stayed. I didn't think the o-line was bad at all, but the
playcalled was trash and the QBs looked scared and lost. I would
run, run and run some more. Use Dempster, Carson and Ragsdale
and throw in some QB power with Zellous.

I don’t think many fans want a return to Priore’s “three runs
and a punt” offense.

I don't for sure. But if the strength is running the ball and
the QB (Zelous) is an option in that area as well, and nobody
can throw, there is no choice. The way it looked, time-consuming
drives seems to be the best way to go for this offense. And that
way, the shitty defense will be on the field less.

I just looked at the stats and the tackle leaders were the DB’s
and LB’s not the DL like someone posted.
I too watched the game last night and I wouldn’t be surprised if
at some point the Boyd kid takes over at QB as he was just given
a full scholarship while on this trip and has been with the team
going on two years.
I know one thing for sure this team will show up to play next
Saturday against URI

Listened to Cosh's recap of Week 1 from CAA site. He announced
Zelous as starter, so that answers that question. But he said he
thought the defense played well. And he complimented certain
players. I must have watched a different game because the
players he praised, I would have not. Any thoughts against Rhode
Island?
