Good point @sbupatriots on televised game. As my son pointed out
to me, the game should be viewable though in its entirety on the
       Fox Sports app.

Am I already all in on O’Connor? I might be. Let’s see how this
       ages.

We have the lead at the first media timeout! Why not?

Interesting usage. O’Connor hasn’t left the floor, Octave was
out for a blink. The former is stunning but also speaks volumes
about Geno’s confidence in him and, potentially, it’s a red
flag. I think it’s more an emphasis tonight against Marquette’s
ball pressure. He hasn’t been afraid.

Nobody else? OK, I'll weigh in.
Just an impossible spot for our team. Marquette was bigger,
stronger, faster and deeper, and they also aren't the type to
give an inch on either end – pressuring the ball, getting on the
glass, attacking the paint. They got whatever they wanted, and
that's why they ended up with the most points by an opponent
since, I believe, 11/24/13 when we beat Detroit in three OTs.
Two days prior, we lost 103-99 to Toledo. Defensively, Shaka has
built quite a culture there, to the point where they have a
running count of deflections on the jumbotron.
       My thoughts in brief ...
       • O'Connor will be really good (I had "outstanding" but dialed
it back) as long as he's here (it's sad to have to say that
now). McKenzie with a much better offensive game. Led us in
minutes and the moment, for the most part, didn't appear too big
for him. I do wonder about him defensively though. In general
though, I think he'll be the steady hand we need against
       competition at our level.
       • Wight played his tail off. He looked like he'd been in a prize
       fight at the end.
       • Nyarko is a project. And still no Nahar. Which emphasizes the
importance and health of Wight, because we looked thin inside
already. I would think we'd go small a la Policelli at the 5
before giving Nyarko major minutes at this point. Just one game
       of course.
       • Awesome game from Philip. He adds an element of athleticism
and motor that I think we need.
       • We had trouble keeping anybody out of the paint, and there was
little to no resistance at the rim.
       • Octave, Luster and Woodard – arguably our offensive nucleus –
will be fine. I'm thinking Luster is a less trigger-happy, maybe
more consistent version of Foreman. Octave ought to have more
room to operate going forward; he's not this dead-eye
three-point shooter. Woodard seemed especially sped up, but
       (shrug) it's Marquette.
       • Quietish night from Snoddy, but we've seen him be a
       double-double type. No worries here.
       • I'll reserve judgment on the offense until we see games in a
       more normal setting.

This was a much superior opponent and it's our first game, but
pretty disappointing effort. I only watched the first half-
O'Connor looks good but when the double teams came towards him
we struggled greatly. We need another ball handler to take
pressure off of him (Philip seems to be most ideal).
Shocked that Nyarko played only 2 minutes I believe? We could
use his athleticism around the rim.
Our defense is very concerning. I don't know if we have the size
or talent to compete with the talented big men in our conference
at this point. There's very little depth behind Wight. Hope he
       can stay healthy.
Luster looked OK. Octave struggled at least in the first half.
Woodard's shot did not look good but hopefully that was just
jitters and adjusting to a higher level of competition. Frey
appears to be hot/cold again like he's been most of his career.
Let's see how the next game plays out.

id share thoughts- but so little of the game was televised, so i
have little to say! im not the type to just respond to a stat
sheet after playing a top 20 team on the road in early Nov with
       a largely new squad.

       - Was pleasantly surprised with Wight, he looked like a more
than competent Big for CAA play
       - Would love to see Philip play more...is he still on a minutes
restriction? He is an above average glue guy, and the best
athlete on the floor when he is in the game
       - I cannot comprehend why Frey plays as much as he does...He is
incapable of creating his own shot, and is a mediocre shooter in
relation to his volume...hopefully Geno will steer away from 20+
       mins a game
-Woodard has juice...looks like someone who has a lot of
       potential
