incredible start to the season. Cosh is a hell of a coach, and
the only bittersweet thing about this season is that I get the
sense (unfortunately) that he is headed for bigger opportunities
sooner rather than later.
Who's a candidate to replace him as head coach in this scenario?
I can't even believe I'm going down this route already, but the
results have been undeniable. Maybe defensive coordinator Scott
Lewis takes over as head coach?

I don't see SBU committing a substantial amount of money to keep
him around-- I guess it would depend on the direction of the new
President of the University? And the success of the new NIL
stuff? A lot of unknown variables.

Listen guys, why are we talking about Cosh moving on? The folks
who have moved on from the CAA had multiple years of success at
this level- Cignetti had multiple years in the CAA (and
eventually the Sun Belt when JMU went DI) prior to getting
poached by Indiana. Ferrante has been at Nova since 2016 and has
had tons of success. There aren't a ton of high level places
worth going to- the smaller FBS programs aren't exactly a huge
step up. As we learned from Priore's contract, you can have a
pretty solid contract at SBU.

I think we have a good coach and we'll probably lose him, but
agree he'll be for a couple of seasons. It's a hell of a
turnaround season, but it's still mostly players recruited by
Priore (BTW really happy that these players get to win some
games here). On the Any Given Saturday message, CAA fans are
already saying that the roster isn't built for success and that
Cosh brought in 'ringers' to win now. Definitely not what I'm
seeing and definitely not what any was saying 2 months ago, but
I think he has to prove it's not a flash in the pan.

Cosh and his staff brought in a very good freshmen class last
year and has at least 7 players for the class of 2025 that are
very good so the roster will be in good shape for years to come.
Also from what I’m hearing they will continue to mix in
transfers and hs players every year

[/quote] Good points. But let’s remember his previous job was as
offensive coordinator in the MAC. So its possible great success
in CAA might lead to a MAC offer.
(Ferrante has been at Nova for a very long time (38 years) as
assist and head coach…became head coach at age 57-ish … so he
may not be a good example.)
