coastal win this year, and FU will drop like a rock straight out
of the top 20. this probably doesnt erase the bingo/SHU losses,
but it's a start.

losing; no huge wins, but some solid wins- lots of them- and
otherwise took care of business.

hanging sticks cost us too. our assist % still sucks (young
team with new personnel) but our SOG% is way up (24/35). we
lost GBs by ten.

today (55 total). also picked a pass late in the game, leading
to o'brien's go ahead goal. oh and, jamo got the rare goalie
assist, and an ever rarer SOG!

williams, dechiaro, and im pretty sure boyle has moved to mid
with marino at attack. cieleski got some runs at LSM. anderson
fagen and kraemer played SSDM. a good idea in the heat.

A great summary, as always COB.
You're spot on about turnovers, stick hanging, and failed
clears, as well as assist %. Some of these issues we've been
watching for several years now. What felt different about
Saturday was how we didn't crumble. We kept fighting. After we
came out guns blazing with leads of 5-1 and 6-2, it would have
been easy to pack it in after the Stags' 5-goal surge that gave
them a 7-6 lead. But we went toe-to-toe the whole game.
Fairfield pulled within 5-6 with 14:24 left in the 2nd Q. From
that point until 10:02 left in the 4th, neither team had a lead
of more than one goal. Four times, Fairfield retook a lead, and
we tied them up. We got in our own way plenty of times, but our
ability to bounce back and not hang our heads was impressive.
10 ties. 9 lead changes. Some big faceoff wins, big stops, huge
goals in crunch time. 75 degrees and breezy and an upset of the
last undefeated team in the nation? Hard to top that kind of
Saturday afternoon at LaValle. Well done, boys. Keep building on
it.

yes and a few of the clears that registered as successful ended
up being turnovers when just over the line. so perhaps the
reality is worse than the stat!
we've had trouble with 10 man rides all season. most would.
it's not lost on me that nearly the ENTIRE offense is
underclassmen- or at least new faces (boyle, o'brien). this is
reminiscient of the '08 team.
were more competitive at FO (smith doing well), defense is
playing defense for the first time in many, many years, jamo
strong in cage, using our depth well. GO SB
