I didnt watch the game but did watch the highlights on ESPN. SBU
defense giving up 549 yards is scary. This will be a long, ugly
year, but that was to be expected.
Priore really gutted this SBU football team down to the bones.
It's a damn shame SH allowed him to do that.

I was impressed with the first quarter and the first half of the
second quarter, but the defense wore down after that. I actually
didn't think Knoop did anything that warranted a mid game QB
change. Marshall has speed but is obviously raw as a true
freshman. Would have liked to see a TD especially late against
the Marshall reserves. We let Chad Pennington's kid (now that's
a name from my childhood) score on us.

It was the first game of the season and a new coach and nobody
posting on this board other than a couple of guys. No body is
excited about the footall program. they should drop football or
drop down to division 3 because no one really cares about it.
How many people on here will travel to SB football games this
year? Save money and move on because the glory days are over.
there isnt another Hofstra about to drop football and hand you
better players and in this new world SB will never win the
conference as the good kids will be going to other schools as
freshman or leave here if they have a good year. That is the
reality and everyone is fooling themselves. Thats what I think.

You can get just as excited about divison 3 teams as you can
really bad FCS teams I promise.

I beg to differ because Coach Cosh will make SBU an exciting
team and as long as I see improvement each week that’s all I
care about.

Just listened to the Week 2 preview and post-game interview with
each coach in the CAA. Cosh said the defense played well but
wore down in the second half because of a lack of depth. There
were barely any substitutions, other than the D-Line. The
linebackers played the entire game and every snap on Special
Teams. No wonder why they got tired, that's a Priore statement.
And he was asked who will be the starting QB for next week and
he clearly said Marshall is the starter. So we bring in the
experience Knoop, who did very well at Georgetown and he's on
the bench after 2 series. Don't want to lose hope already, but I
see the same nonsense from the past few years.

By the way I listened to the whole conference and Cosh was asked
again about Johnson and he said it was an on campus incident

You cant base the rest of the season on a game against Marshall
but seeing the team the other night it doesnt look like there is
a lot to be excited about.
I guess you all forget that they have only 2 winning seasons in
the last 10 years. You should be able to be excited about a
division 3 program. what difference would it make at SB if they
were not in division 1?

Geez man. Can you at least wait until week 4 before throwing the
towel?
Did you really expect to win against a FBS team at their place,
with a new coach?
It's going to take sometime before we get to that position, if
ever, that we can beat a decent FBS program.
There is a reason why FBS teams and FCS teams aren't treated the
same way. There is a scholarship differential and a pecking
order.
On a really good year we can probably compete against a Marshall
and maybe upset them.
But I didn't expect us to compete well with a brand new coach
who is trying to rebuild this program after a winless year and
several losing seasons.
Let's be patient. Lets support them at the Home Opener and at
the Fordham game in the Bronx. GO SEAWOLVES!

Your confused and didnt get my point. I didnt say they shouldve
beat Marshall and I didnt think they would even play good. Why
would you think that? Im pointing out that there is no one
excited about the team and season. SB has 2 winning seasons in
the last 10 years. Did you know that before I told you? theres
nothing to get excited about. I hope they win all of there games
but dont think they can beat anyone other than stone hill.
theres nothing wrong with division 3 if SB went there. theyd
have the same number of fans at games and maybe more because
more local players would come here and stay.
Why shouldnt they go division 3? What difference would it make?
the few fans would still be fans. theyre never gonna win the caa
and never go to Frisco.
