I suspect we wont hear anything official until these meetings
are completed this summer. This would be a major move for the
school and all the conferences involved-America East, Big South
and the CAA so it will fuel speculation.

matter? Are you looking for the CAA to add a member? Do you
think Stony Brook is a good fit? What do you think is in JMU's
future now that they have that fancy stadium?

Thanks for the welcome. I don't have a problem with it. It would
certainly give the CAA the NYC area back for football. I think
your football program could be ready, maybe not top, but could
be somewhere in the middle. As far as basketball, I will assume
that SB will have a lot of growing to do. It is something that
SB is going to have to think about and whether or not the CAA is
going to be together as it is now in the next couple of years.
People have stated that GMU and VCU are as good as gone, but
they have yet to receive any kind of formal invitation. Neither
has JMU or ODU received any kind of formal invite to a FBS
       league.
I am willing to bet with the new NBC deal that the CAA signed,
they are probably looking for a big market with a descent team,
so that certainly puts SB on the radar. But at the same time,
UNCW has to be taken care of so that they are not left on an
island in NC, so you could see one of your Big South Brethren
come in as well--Coastal Carolina. But who really knows, until
       it actually comes.

If GMU and VCU leave the CAA, that diminishes a lot of the
attractiveness of the CAA...certainly in basketball. The America
East used to be a decent conference until the top teams left.
Football would still be strong though.
