Marist is on the home slate now. They'll be here December 17.
There's another relatively local school that makes total sense
as an OOC opponent. It's been over 10 years.
Should be a good test after they had their best year in a while.
Good guards.

Another home date. We'll get Maine on December 21.
Maine was a doormat for years, but they've actually been good
under Chris Markwood, including an 11-point win over a really
good South Florida team last year.
The three non-con home games we have thus far are pretty good. I
was looking at Wagner's home sked, and it's basically four
exhibition games (Manor, Springfield, Penn State-Fayette, Penn
State-Scranton) along with Coppin State and Manhattan. Maine has
only four non-con home games, two of which are sub D-I.

The big reveal ...
HTML https://stonybrookathletics.com/sports/mens-basketball/schedule
I'd say it's a pretty standard schedule for us. A sixth OOC home
game would have been nice, but we have four solid D-Is coming
here, and we'll get a look at everybody against St. Joe's.
In short, I'd say that, aside from the opener at Marquette and
maybe the George Mason game, all these games are winnable, and
they're all losable too. Nothing really wrong with that,
especially as we feel our way around a bit. Check out the
KenPoms from last year.
at Columbia (232)
at Brown (191)
Norfolk State (219)
Air Force (264)
at Rider (225)
Marist (215)
Maine (231)
at Albany (244)
We were right in that pack before our late run all the way up to
168.
In conference, we have a stretch at Charleston, at UNCW, home to
Towson and at Hofstra. That is some gauntlet.

I'm hoping we'll eventually get rid of the St Joe's game one
day. Didn't Farmingdale State used to be our default D3 partner
for that?

It used to bother me that it was on the schedule at all, as a
game and not an exhibition no less, but looking at other teams'
slates at our level, I'm thankful we have just the one sub D-I
game. We'll likely be licking our wounds at that point, so a
pick-me-up isn't the worst.
Hampton gets Mid-Atlantic Christian, the Apprentice School and
Regent at home this year. Presumably people are paying to attend
these games. [emoji15] I've got the aggregate line at Hampton
-150.

Speaking of "newbies". I keep seeing references to a freshman
6'0" guard named Kenny Fields, supposedly signed in early
August. But, he's never appeared on the roster, and has never
been highlighted in any forum or SBU publicity that I've run
across. Anyone know the scoop?

I'm not on the inside, but it appears he's rostered at Polk
State, a juco in Florida, for this year.

But he is committed.

Norfolk State is listed as a 7pm tip on a Sunday. When was the
last time we had one of those? Ever?
