In the game of football any team can beat any team on any given
week Kennesaw State FCS was a 27 point underdog to FBS Liberty
and beat them 27-24

I just saw on X that #7 Montana is averaging through their first
5 home games 26,000 fans per game. We’re lucky if we average
6,000 fans per game.

not surprising. to me, the real rub is their undergrad student
body is like 7,000 students. we have 18,000.
so the obvious conclusion is that it's largely locals, though i
bet the students show up there too.
for locals- we have 3 million people in nassau/suffolk alone-
that's not even counting queens, which is a mere 40 miles (~1
hour) away. that's another 2.5 million people. and omits the
other boroughs too. big ones.
that's all loose math but it means we need about 1 per every 500
people to fill our 12k seats. is football not popular these
days?
for comparison- the entire state of montana has about a million
people. and even less in driving distance to missoula
(population 77k). their stadium is more than twice our
capacity.
77k/26k is quite easy math- one of three. not 500.
they're a good study in what we are doing wrong.

By the way I called up the Ticket Office yesterday and mentioned
my idea about utilizing the LIRR and coming up with a package
and plan on following up with management about doing that. It
was round trip ticket, game ticket and refreshments of some kind

I do a lot of HS Football and HS Football attendance for the
playoffs has been averaging around 500 people per game however
the championship games will average 1000 people per game. By the
way the LI Championship Games are held at Hofstra and Stony
Brook
