Villanova (4-1) moved up to #5 in the AFCA rankings and remained
at #6 in the Stats rankings after defeating LIU, 24-10, last
week. The Wildcats return to CAA play on Saturday at Stony
Brook.

William & Mary (4-1) climbed to #10 in the AFCA poll and is
ranked #12 by Stats following its 49-7 triumph over Hampton. The
Tribe travels to Towson this week.

New Hampshire (3-1), which was off last week, is ranked #16 by
the AFCA and #21 by Stats. The Wildcats are back in action on
Friday night at Harvard.

Rhode Island (3-1), which also had a bye last week, moved up to
#20 in the Stats poll and is ranked #25 in the AFCA poll. The
Rams are on the road at Hampton this Saturday.

Richmond (3-2) rose to #21 in the AFCA poll and was the top team
among other receiving votes in the Stats poll after winning
27-17 at Elon last week. The Spiders entertain North Carolina
A&T this Saturday.

Stony Brook (4-1) and Monmouth (3-2) were among others receiving
votes in both polls, while UAlbany (1-3) picked up a vote in the
AFCA poll.
25. Stony Brook (4-1) | Previous Ranking: NR (Where I
ranked them: NR)
Stony Brook gets my final spot. When comparing the resume of the
Seawolves to the resumes of Illinois State and ETSU, it became a
numbers problem.
Stony Brook has four FCS wins and zero FCS losses. While Stony
Brook's wins may not be over the most impressive opponents,
neither were Illinois State's three FCS wins — and the Redbirds
now have an FCS loss. ETSU might've beaten Elon, but it only has
two FCS wins on the year.

Stock Up: Talk about a September to remember: Stony Brook
and McNeese – each 0-10 last season – won four games in the
month. Stony Brook (4-1), under first-year coach Billy Cosh,
finished it off with a 22-3 win over Morgan State as Roland
Dempster rushed for 158 yards and three touchdowns. McNeese
(4-2) won 28-26 at No. 25 Weber State behind Joshon Barbie’s
three TD runs.
Seeing us on the verge of being ranked would truly be something.
I think if we win this weekend we'll be in. Would be the first
time being ranked since when? 2019 I want to say? Huge.
All it needed was canning Priore and there's finally some buzz
around this program again. I'm digging it. Still Screw FloSports
though.

While Villanova and several other upcoming CAA games may prove a
bridge to far at this point, it’s been a very good run. Keeping
it close versus Villanova and emerging with a healthy roster
will tell me a lot regarding the chances of picking up a couple
more W’s this season.

The fact we’ve been winning is helping with recruiting as last
week for instance in the rain 25 recruits attended the game
including one of the top kickers in NYS Anthony Manninino of
Walt Whitman HS

For those that dislike Flo Sports. Give radio a chance! WUSB
Sports does a good job. We can support the Seawolves and our
journalism school students at the same time
