I don't see the relevant aspect of it other than Glen Dubin. I
hope he makes another donation soon, perhaps an expansion of
LaValle Stadium to 15k seats. LOL

Good read...
I was a little worried about atmosphere comparing to pritchard..
but this excerpt give me hope that we will carry the amazing
pritchard atmosphere to the bigger area:
The new arena will feature a bowl shaped style that is more
typical of other facilities of its kind than the old arena, and
permanent seating, something new for Stony Brook’s indoor
arenas. Some of the seating will be movable, creating extra
space for practice courts when the stands are pulled in, but
still allowing for fans to be close to the game during the
season.
“If you’ve been to a game at Pritchard, everyone’s on top of the
action,” Larsen explained. “It’s a loud, great environment. So
we’re hoping to replicate that down here by having the fans a
lot closer to the action.”

New and exciting academic partnerships that can strengthen the
Long Island banking sector through education and

from SBUGold in the football thread:
HTML http://seawolvesnation.kinja.com/new-york-budget-includes-25k-for-la-valle-upgrades-1694997187?rev=1427898670283
New York Budget Includes $25K For La Valle Upgrades
"...for the purposes of a stadium expansion and "stadium
improvement and locker room facilities."
...they are on top of other allocations that have been set aside
for La Valle Stadium in previous years' budgets. A stadium
expansion to boost official capacity up to 10,000 has been in
the works for years, but so far any improvements have been
incremental.
The budget also earmarks more than $12,000 for the new Stony
Brook Arena, which just opened last fall.
HTML http://www.ubbullrun.com/2015/4/13/8403223/stony-brook-tries-to-trick-tax-payers-into-a-stadium-upgrad
any of this true???
and an interesting football idea in the comments:
HTML [img]http://Alternate Albany and SB vs UB at Yankee Stadium on
black friday
The next day Saturday have SB vs Albany and UB vs Bingo in
basketball at Barclays
And Sunday have two winners face off at Barclays.
Let’s assume it costs 500k to use Yankee stadium and 1 million
to use Barclays for two days. = 1.5 million
Then have the state pay for every team’s travel: = 750 thousand
UB = 250k
Bingo= 125k
SB = 125K (125k every other year for football)
Albany = 125K (125k every other year for football)
With 20 million remaining,
The winner of the football game gets 10 million dollars
Each basketball semifinal winner gets 2 million dollars
Basketball Championship winner gets 6 million dollars
This makes inter-Suny play almost the most important part of
both seasons, with a team able to make 18 million in a weekend.
It’s in NYC bringing sports to the market that would allow all 4
SUNY teams to get to the next level.
And it would help motivate donors, to support their teams in
order to win that big SUNY Challenge money.[/img]
