I gotta use a homework pass for this one, boys. Mon-Thu-Sat is
tough!
Honestly, it feels weird to say this when facing a team that won
at Kentucky, but I feel like this is a good matchup for us. I
think Maidoh and Fitz can throw their weight around underneath,
Snoddy can get on the glass too, and like we've done against
Thomas and Rice, we have a few athletes we can throw at White
... although I think you can get an idea of a player's ability
relative to the opposition by looking at his free throw
attempts. White's taken 155, including 20 in their win at Elon a
week ago. Fitz leads our team with 68. [emoji16]
I do like their guards too. They're experienced, can all
threaten us offensively, and can turn us over.
I'm not certain on the status of Harden-Hayes ... he's missed
the last two games, but was only considered "banged up" after
the Delaware game. If he's on the fence, I could see them giving
him the weekend too, and getting him ready for the game at
Charleston. If you recall, Harden-Hayes dropped 31 on us a year
ago at our place.
Go SB.

Harden-Hayes availability feels like the X-factor in this one.
If Snoddy and Philip can slow down White we might have a chance!
Also they aren't a great 3 point shooting team which should
help.

Great job, CBSSN! Streaming of SBU game goes to the
Delaware/Towson game (on my Roku TV).

UNCW is an incredibly athletic team; best CAA team we faced to
date. It’s gonna take another high FG-shooting half to win this
one. The Clark and Sabry 3 attempts at end of half killed our 9
point lead; team needs to be smarter than that, as this totally
changed momentum.

A great first half nearly undone by a woeful final two minutes.
Up by nine, then Clarke takes an early three from Frey range
without running any sort of offense beforehand, then we give
UNCW three chances on the offensive end, and of course they make
us pay by hitting a three. Then Phillip misses a three (is that
his game?) and we give up an easy fast break bucket. Now we're
only up by two. Clarke is too experienced to be doing that.
Frey really helped turn the tide early when we were struggling
from the field.

Killing us on the offensive boards, and we’re back to launching
3’s. Going to be very hard to overcome this swing in momentum
playing like this. Geno ball. Stop with the 3’s!!!!!!!!!!

UNCW had a few misses, and we could have gotten it to a single
possession game again, but then Clarke again tried a transition
3 instead of running offense. Sigh.

Geez, can't get over the hump. We're right there.
UNCW is really scuffling against this zone. I'll take contested
free throw line jumpers. Gotta watch the corner threes and
baseline cuts.
