I'm really surprised by this line. I feel like we've done enough
to not be close to a double-digit dog in almost any game this
season. That's not to say we won't lose any by double digits.
Nine just feels like a lot.
That said, Delaware's a really strong side. A conference POY
candidate yet balance throughout, almost unmatched experience,
good athleticism, a veteran coach – they're just solid.
You have to start with Davis, who's just such a horse for UD.
Last year, he was really overshadowed by Nelson, but now that
the team's his, he's really shined. I don't know if, in terms of
individual talent, he's as explosive as Nelson is/was, but he
has great versatility as somebody who put the ball in the hoop
from anywhere, draw contact, etc. As we’ve stepped up in class
to the CAA, we’ve seen players with enhanced ability, but it’s
rare even now to encounter a scorer who has the athleticism and
physicality that Davis has. I don't think he's that unlike
       Telfort from Northeastern last year.
What's been important is that Ingelsby has found some running
mates, specifically Drumgoole, who filled it up in what was a
lost year for Albany yet used that as a launching pad to find
his way to finish up at UD. You can see glimpses of the
high-major profile (he started at Pitt) in his frame and his
game, even if it's a bit volume-based. I'm curious what the
assignments will be on both ends – is it Maidoh on Davis? Is it
Davis on Maidoh??? Who does Fitz cover? Who covers Fitz?? Again,
we're in a situation where we're pitted against a team with
wings for days, but nobody who can nearly match the biggest of
our bigs. It's interesting. From a defensive perspective, I like
that Maidoh and Fitz can comfortably stay on their feet to
challenge shots, hopefully keeping them out of foul trouble. You
can also see Delaware spreading the floor, but as I've said
before, I like what I've seen from our guys.
Going back to who can match up with Davis, I think the natural
answer is Snoddy. I also love that Philip has emerged as a guy
whose energy I think we all appreciate and has shown willingness
to compete on the defensive end.
Delaware's biggest win, and one of the top few for the CAA this
year, was at Xavier a month and a half ago, and oddly enough it
was Trent who just killed them, dropping 27 on the Musketeers,
nearly double what he's done the rest of the year. But it does
go back to the balance, which they also get from Reilly, easily
their best three-point shooter, and Ray, who's second in the
conference in rebounding even at only 6-6. Reilly played HS ball
alongside Towson's Christian May, who we managed to hold in
check in defeat (sigh). We can't lose sight of him. Geno's
dropped into a zone here and there, and I expect we'll see it
       again.
To be 2-2 at this stage, through three road games, with two of
them wins, is a significant triumph to this point. Fourteen
conference games left, eight of them at home, with a soft spot
there in February for us to make up ground if need be. We're in
the thick of a really tough stretch, particularly with the
emergence of Monmouth behind insane Xander Rice, when we might
have thought that a home date with them was at least something
resembling a lull. In the America East, we had lulls. In the
CAA, this year in particular, they've been difficult to find.
Another road game, another formidable opponent, yet we keep
fighting. Another one that's in play for us I think.

bravo, checkmate, bravo. again and again.
having seen this UD team, i agree, with so many swing 3s, the
highlight of this game should be the matchups/assignments.
       we've regularly settled into a fitz/maidoh combination, but i
dont recall that being the case early in the season. could give
us an advantage here. just look out for fouls- which i think
only gave us an issue once this year.
i think the team is much improved this season- not against last
season, throw that out- i mean against the ford/boals years
altogether. it's much more cohesive and dynamic. while we
arent even winning all that much, this team is much better
prepared and may just get hot at the right time. id gladly take
a .500 team with a chance in march than a 23-8 team that loses
       in the first round.

The standings are such a logjam right now. Yeah, you got Drexel
and Charleston at 5-0/4-0, then we're one of the NINE(!) teams
behind them at 2-2. Somehow, Hofstra is 1-3!
       Hampton is 0-5.

For a second, I thought, we might get a home playoff game! But
that's not how it works anymore (sigh). I don't know that
Northeastern/Campbell does anything for anybody in DC, but
that's the kind of thing we'll be looking at. I suppose it's
about as central as you can get though. I'm glad we got to
celebrate a tournament bid on our home floor at least once.
The CAA website says that 2,072 people watched Charleston scrape
past UNCW in the final last year ... or half or less of what
those teams draw on their home floors. It's too bad. I like the
       home sites.

Delaware has a lot of athletic wings but they don’t play too
cohesive saw we opened around 7.5 pt dogs I like us.

I don’t see this game as a must win but would love to see better
       3pt shooting. We’re currently 10th in CAA play with 30% from 3.

i dont know if anyone else has this problem- on my tv, the FLO
app literally does not have this game. it has the 3.2 game, and
it also has a SB at UD game with no date, which doesnt load. i
started this process at 6.40, it's now 7.21 and im still not
watching content i've paid for. JV

The 13-0 Delaware run looked like it could get out of control
for us but i like how smart we were to get back into it and tie
       it up again.
