AD Fiore to the Big Ten?
By: sbufan Date: February 24, 2012, 11:19 am

There's some talk that Fiore might be a condidate to be the next
AD at the University of Minnesota. Former Stony Brook provost,
Eric Kaler, is the President at Minnesota and has a good
relationship with Fiore. I'm a big fan of what Fiore and what
he's doing at Stony Brook, so I'd him to see him go but, if
offered, this opportunity might be too good to turn down.

He has done an excellent job and then some at StonyBrook. I
would hate to lose him but a Big Ten job if indeed true would be
hard to pass up.

I think it's just speculation that he could be a candidate. But
I agree completely Seawolf97

Someone over at Newsday overheard him saying something along the
lines of "having unfinished business" here, but if UMinn offers
him a spot in the Big Ten (and a payday to match), then I really
couldn't blame him for going.
I'd hate to see him go, considering the spectacular job he's
done.

NOOO. Please don't. Fiore has to stay! he's great...
But honestly... this looks like the opportunity of a lifetime.
Close to home (LI) and a future Big Ten school in 2014... Hard
to pass

LOL.. Fiore could be looking at a $ 1,000,000 salary , wouldn't
you go too ??
Maybe a change isn't a terrible thing with the AD.. I mean, a
new Athletic director could make changes for the better,
possibly streamline SB Sports into a stronger conference quicker
then Fiore can. Hey, you never know !!

I don't know about a $1 mil in a public university.... but its
obviously a better gig than at the Brook and hell yeah i would
leave in a heartbeat... but i'm a fan so i can be emotional
about it. lol

It was awhile ago maybe a year that he was rumored as going to
Minnesota. The Univ President is an SBU alum . But he didn't
budge. I think Minnesota is a better school than Rutgers
prestige wise for sure.

Would hate to see him go but the reality is he would have to
beat out at least 10 equally qualified candidates to get the job
so for now I would consider it a long shot.
