Just watched the replay. Great first half until that TSM TO,
which led to that 8-0 run for CC at end of half. 2nd half we
came out gassed, and had major defensive breakdowns throughout
half. CC is a great team with too many offensive options. Rogers
killed us in 2nd half. All in all, disappointing loss, but we
showed a lot of heart. We’ve closed the gap year-over-year for
sure. Poor Frankie looked like a fish out of water.

watched the replay. really fun game to watch.
furious first half, we came out firing 45-30 at one point. i
thought we played great. we played up tempo, moved the ball
       well. dunks, easy layups, steals, 3s. TSM's steal/dunk (1000th
point) was BANANAS. TSM lately has been a whole new level of
       good.
CoC is very, very good. it feels like we lost this in the last
       90 seconds or so.
we scored a whole lot of easy buckets last night. then again,
both teams seemingly couldnt miss. if im ford im looking for
the next fitz, and maidoh too. fitz was 7/8, 2/2 at the line,
with 5 boards and 3 assists. GO SB

Just as an aside, pathetic that Newsday didn't cover this game
at all. This was most heralded game at home this year for SBU,
       and nuttin' from Newsday. Shameful.

while a 1000% agree, the Statesman has been wonderful this year
       (they usually are).

We appreciate Checkmates insight every game!
Newsday is really bad but daily newspapers are struggling so
they cover high school where they can get more clicks for
advertisers. long island colleges especially stony brook give
them no reason to cover them the past few years so why should
       they?

I was just watching a Tom Izzo press conference from MSU's game
at Northwestern, and there were all these questions for him.
Road game, decent opponent but far from a rivalry, and (ahem)
it's Michigan State and B1G, and the reporters travel to it. We,
on the other hand, can't even get a cub reporter to even one of
our home games. It's disappointing. They can't offer a kid a few
bucks and a line on his resume to cover it? Newsday had somebody
at the Hofstra/Charleston game two days earlier, yet it's only
the second game they've covered of theirs this season. The last
story that they did on SBU hoops was the season preview two
       months ago.
I know how badly newspapers are hurting – Newsday's print
circulation is around 80,000 after being in the 400,000s 10
years ago. And there's certainly data behind their choices. How
many people have clicked on Stony Brook gamers in the past?
People aren't exactly packing the arena to see them in person.
Can they commit someone, with their limited resources, to a game
when only 50 people are clicking into the article, and can they
really give coveted print real estate to it if the data they do
have suggests that people aren't looking for it? I can't imagine
they ever had a reporter following the team everywhere, but I
feel like every home game at least was covered five years ago.
Two years ago even. I get it. I really do. It's just sad.
       Yes, I have offered, but
       🤷🏼‍♂️

Heilbron has taken the program to new lows and they need to
clean house over there its a shame.
