I'm really confused about the tournament arrangements for WBB.
Based upon what I see, the WNIT has Monmouth listed as an
automatic qualifier and Charleston as an at-large qualifier.
Remember who was the regular season champ (and had the best
record)-SBU!?!? So, how come SBU ends up in the WBIT (it's 1st
year, by the way)?
The WBIT is more prestigious than the WNIT, it seems, as the BIT
bracket is filled first and conference champs get an auto-bid
Thanks for this. It was confusing at first.

Not sure how many of the key players are returning but hopefully
the team could build off of this into next year.

Sucks that NET was accurate. Illinois was an under-.500 B1G team
and still beat the 28-4 CAA champs by that much.

I thought she still had an extra year left here because she
didn't make the NCAA Tournament. But god that was fast. She was
here for three years!

A job doesn't open up at your alma mater every year. Makes
perfect sense to have her, a legend in her own right and a
budding coaching resume, replace a legend on the sideline.
The reality is that we'll almost always be a stepping stone, for
any sport, with our budget and profile being what they are
compared to other places. I'd imagine Langford's salary almost
doubles with this move, so even if she didn't play there, you
can't turn down that kind of loot.

yes to stepping stone.
there are some unique situations- senk and spallina- but that
takes special circumstances, like a local, coming home, staying
home, etc. Often this is better for us with the older, more
established coaches.
the old days of a coach sticking around for decades or an entire
career are long over. now the athletes can do it too.
