FYI. The SBU Athletic site doesn't show it, but today's game at
Monmouth is on SNY at 2:00 PM.

Thanks for the heads up, guess we never updated it on our site
because it's through Monmouth's deal.
Big time W against a team that was just 1 GB of us. I thought
we'd lose our streak to this game and not Campbell. Went down by
10 points in the first 7.5 minutes but ended the first quarter
on a 9-0 run. Went up by six at halftime and then a monster
31-12 third quarter sealed it for us as we got a 25-point lead.
A new career high with 30 points for Clark, I wonder what our
single-game record is? Sadly NCA&T won too so we're still tied
for first. But this was an impressive win, just blowing the door
wide open on the road against one of the CAA's top teams.
Monmouth won the CAA Tournament last year as the 7 seed by
walloping 1 seed Towson 80-55. Talk about upsets.
Single-game record is 36, for the D1 era. We had a bunch of 31+
point games in the early years of our program, 1999-2004, but
Annie Warren's 31 in the title game against Maine to take us to
the NCAAs was the first since 2007.

SBU WBB has suffered only 3 losses this season, which is
terrific! Unfortunately, two of those losses have been in O/T
against in-conference opponents--the latest at Towson last
night. The culprit this time, according to Coach Langford, was
a lack of performance (and hustle) on defense. In general, that
looks correct. But, to me the other contributing factors were a
host of careless turnovers and poor performance on the freethrow
line.
Whatever, as good as they are, it's essential that they turn
this around in a hurry. It looks like the rest of the season is
going to be a helluva dog fight!!

Haven't had the chance to watch the women's team lately so I
just caught up now. The Towson loss was very unfortunate:
16-for-29 from the free throw line, despite leading the CAA in
that stat, including six misses in the 4th quarter. Make one of
those and we win in regulation. Then, in OT, we hold Towson
scoreless for the first 3 mins, but we were sloppy handling the
ball in transition of another Towson miss (they were so cold)
and it led to points for them, then a bad pass led to another
easy Towson fast break basket.
Since then though, we’ve played angry. Walloped Northeastern by
36 on the road (we led 56-18 after three quarters!), crushed
Hofstra by 33 at home and then Elon by 29. Elon scored just 32
points, which turned out to be the least ever we’ve allowed to a
D1 school.
NC A&T lost vs Monmouth in 2OT, so now we're a game ahead for
first.

Somehow they managed to get by the Dragons--a true nail biter.
Pittman was on her game, when Gonzales and Clarke were not.
Puts them in excellent position for retaining top seed. But, it
ain't over yet!

What a game! We were down 40-21 halfway through the third
quarter. Ended the quarter on a 16-2 run, including a buzzer
beater 3 by Pittman. Pittman also had a huge steal and bucket
that put us up in the final minute.
Today is the big one, home vs second place A&T. If we win we'll
be two up in the loss column with two games left, which would
clinch the 1 seed.

In looking at the bios, most of them make sense to me. But,
Keenan is a mystery. Does she really have another season?
Seems like she's never redshirted.
