The athletic department desperately misses Chris Murray. He was
the boots on the ground for all the student engagement and
marketing in the 2010s. Also agree the Pikiell post game on
court interviews were a nice touch they should bring back (Geno
is actually an awesome interview). All that being said it all
comes down to winning. Win games and the attendance will follow.

To your point (and others' similar point), the fan base right
now is horrible. Reported attendance of over 1,500 on the SBU
website for this game...........that's probably 5x or 10x
distorted, based on some of those cavernous end zone shots from
Flo last night. We really could use a Pikiell right now to
speak with fans after games, and help energize the program.
Where are the students??? It's a free ticket for them, and the
athletic department not getting students out to the games is
reprehensible. Athletic department should have some of its
interns going around to dorms prior to games to get students out
to the games (yes, get back to basics with a brute force
method). SM is OK, but it's the easy way out for the Athletic
dept, and is obviously not being as effective as we'd like.
And yes, Toby needs minutes, when AC is back. He's the 2nd most
athletic player on this team, and he's a notch up from where he
was last year, IMO.

It wasnt just the end zones that were empty they showed the side
across from the benches a couple of times and maybe 100 people
there.

whatever they were doing to engage the community and get people
to come to games when coach pikiell was here has stopped or
isn't working or it was coach pikiell carrying the load which is
most likely the reason. attendance was decent with the carryover
during the boles years but it declined to these depths today.
