So basically the basketball program is mid-NEC level, just like
football has been the past few years. And this for a flagship
       university.

And will be for more now with the coach getting more time on his
contract if what we hear is true. who gives a coach a extension
early in a season a coach like this?

Regarding Geno’s coaching today — Wagner did a great job turning
up the heat full-court. I recognize Snoddy’s versatility, BUT
why wouldn’t you have your 2 most athletic players - TO and TSM
be involved in breaking the press and bringing ball up, with no
AC? I just don’t get it. Basketball 101.

to me its the same thing over and over again. we shot 20/39,
       5/20. a 51% chance of 40 points vs a 25% chance of 15 points.
choose which you'd rather have, if you want to win.

It's not like Snoddy was/is bringing it up all the time. Tonight
it was a few times against token pressure and he did fine. He
has nine turnovers in seven games, and I can't recall any of
them being in bringing the ball up. He's not our point guard,
but he's more than capable of bringing it up and has an
advantage against most 4s. As for the last play, he rebounded
the missed free throw with 3.5 seconds left. 94 feet and a
game-winning bucket in that time is tough to do.
The full press killed us. Noll wanted no part of Council and his
length/athleticism. Too often it was Noll and Frey – two
non/fringe PGs – trying to break the press. TO and TSM feel like
       better bets there; even Space.
Wagner looked like a viable NEC contender to me. I give them
credit for making some big shots to get back into the game and
stay ahead. Ezquerra and Allen were awesome. There was just way
more ball movement and motion on their end than ours. Did you
know that we entered the day sixth to last nationally in shots
at the rim? Just 26%? Forget dumping it down to Fitz and Maidoh.
It can work here and there but neither is giving you 15 a night.
We just need movement and order. There is little semblance of a
game plan, and that's been the chorus here, on broadcasts, etc.
The offense is so stagnant. Sadly, lack of flow (more turnovers
than assists in five of six non-St Joe's games) and shooting
(29% on non St Joe's threes) continue to plague us. We just take
too many really bad shots, from everywhere on the floor.
I'm not writing off the season, but it's a bad loss. Very much
looked like the Rider game, only Wagner had a little more
       firepower.
In the short list of items in the positive column, it was good
to see Frederick pitch in a bit. I don't know about him as an
offensive threat, but he was good on the glass. And TSM looked
like himself; just wish we saw more of him late. Lastly, a good
crowd that made their voices heard in the final minutes.
What's a shame is that it was a real nice day for some folks in
the Coastal, yet we stub our toe at home against Wagner.

       Presser.
"I'm really disappointed that we would lose a game at home to
Wagner." Meanwhile we've lost three straight to them under Geno.
AC and Philip are "day to day." About AC, Geno said "we'll get
him back eventually" so it sounds like Wednesday is very much in
       question.
Geno puts a lot of what we saw tonight on the AC injury, and it
undoubtedly hurt, but if he's all we have when the heat gets
turned up, then we have a roster problem. The coaches see these
guys in practice every day so they know them best, but I do
wonder about Space as an option.

Get used to it if what we heard is true that Gino is extended.

Up until this year I watched nearly every SB FB and BB game.
This year I didn't watch single football game and have only
watched the two BB games that were on ESPN+.

Geno was more accountable than usual in the presser. He must've
said he did a terrible job coaching 5 times.
