QB Daron Bryden in portal...
Hard to believe we’ll have a QB issue at SBU. Let’s
start a list of quality players not in the portal.

On the one hand, a large number of kids exiting a 0-10 team via
graduation and portal is not necessarily a terrible thing BUT
there are sure to be potential recruits looking elsewhere on top
of this. Soooooooo, we are talking a long rebuild before we go
.500 in the CAA. Years. And only if we land a great coach.
Indeed to be true. But only if SBU hires a real coach who can
recruit and develop young players, something Priore could never
do..
Keeping Priore as long as we did will set SBU back the better
part of an additional decade AFTER we finally got rid of him.
SAD
If we had canned him in the 18-19 timeframe we could have had a
chance at a quick turnaround, but now we're gonna be in rebuild
mode for a while......

That’s right. Why did this university give this hack of a coach
a 3 year contract extension, is beyond me. All I can think is.
This was the payback gift for Priore for hiring him. Use
taxpayers money for favoritism. I call this corruption..

Don't know if this is the right place to put it but Albany QB
Reese Poffenbarger entered the portal last night. Guessing he
goes P5 with the year he had. Huge loss for UA

I saw that this morning too..transfer portal is destroying the
FCS, specifically UA.. Reese is not going to be picked up by any
PF conference. G5 yes.

It all balances out. There is the same amount of schools playing
Division I football and technically the same amount of players,
right?
That means that for every player moving up to the FBS/P5 there
must be the same amount of players moving down to the FCS.
So its just big yearly re-shuffle.
The goal should be for our schools to get the best players of
those "moving down" due to lack of enough playing time at the
FBS and P5.
I like and support that players have more freedom to move
up/down based on their own wishes. This is a free market for
college sports. Everyone was free to move around except the
student-athlete. Now its fair game for everyone.
Programs just need to adapt and thrive in this new landscape!
