So not actually fired. Likely re-assigned to administrative job.
I imagine he'll just end doing a lot of cold calling alums
asking for donations or something.
Hmmm, does this mean that he gets paid his salary ongoing?

He was going to get paid either way. Now they're just going to
make him work for it

I think the Holy Cross head Coach would be a good candidate. He
was in the running for the Delaware job so he would want to
coach in the CAA. After Holy Cross finished in the top 6 last
year he could be ready to go and has realized that he reached
his apex there last year.
Other interesting long shot candidates would be a few coaches
from the PSAC who have had success. Kutztown HC Jim Clements
and Lutz from Slippery Rock. Another name which would have been
out there if this was a year or two down the road is former SB
player Dan Mulrooney. He is in a rebuild at Lock Haven and had
their best season since the early 80s. Went from 1 win to 5 in
his second year there.
What about Ambrose the OC at Albany? He basically saved
Gattuso's job up there in Albany. I can't wait to hear the
rumor mill for the candidates. I just don't know how the AD
survives this and is given the opportunity to pick a new HC
given his track record. I guess we can always hope for a
miracle that he is shown the door next.
This job should get alot of interest.
Not sure the Holy Cross head coach leaves for anything
less than a FBS head coach position at this point but copying
Holy Cross is potentially a good idea. They found a winning
up-and-comer head coach at the D-II level with a proven record
of successful recuiting and took a chance. And it worked. Big
time.
Fordham dipped a bit this year, perhaps their HC is ready to
move. Patriot or Ivy certainly carries juice with our admin.
Another obvious move is to lure the OC or DC from a
Delaware/Villanova type of program.

There’s nothing wrong with the kids they are recruiting the
bigger problem is they weren’t being developed. The other issue
every year Nassau CC sends at least 4 players to FBS or FCS
Programs every year and SBU would never take any. Also there are
at least 7 LI Scholarship HS Players every year that SBU only
might take only one or two on average so that’s got to change
and by doing both of those things will be a positive step in the
right direction.
I know many of you have no use for the assistant coaches however
I would have liked to see what these coaches could have done
hadn’t Chuck stifled them all the time especially with
recruiting and coaching.

Chuck recruited so many FBS transfers this year, many of them
former 3-star recruits, and most of them didn't even end up
playing. That was the big story of the off-season, that all
these FBS kids were going to lift up the team, and aside from
Case and Anthony Johnson, how many contributed? Anthony Johnson
was a great get though, hope he sticks around – he would have
had a top 10 all time receiving season if the Morgan State game
didn't get cancelled.

I just read something recently that FCS Schools that load up on
all these FBS transfers haven’t had as much success as you would
think
I know because of Covid-19 we had a lot 5th or 6th year players
but in my opinion they in some instances clogged up the roster
and prevented younger players from getting the experience that
was necessary for their development

I'll agree with your post but the last part that the Assistant
coaches were stifled by NO PRESSURE CHUCK. Nope they just suck
asss also. Seriously, when you have an AD who is so weak to
allow the last years of destruction to occur and then hire or
allow hires from other incompetent people....the result.....more
incompetent people. CLEAN HOUSE.

There were so many players on the sidelines who are better or
just as good as the so-called starters, it's not even funny. I
think the backups could have given the starters a run for their
money on both sides of the ball, and special teams. Without
naming players, there were many that should have been replaced
after 3 games and that's being generous. Total ****-show on both
sides of the ball, except the wide receivers. I would put that
group up against any in the conference.
