Name to think about is Charles Eger. He is a Long Island guy
who was in the XFL this past season. He could be a long shot. A
lot of pro guys see him a rising star in the profession. Not
sure if we could get him, but he has had some of the most
explosive offenses in country at every level before moving to
professional football.

And his stock was VERY high last year following an undefeated
regular season and going toe to toe with eventual champ SDSU in
playoffs (don't let score deceive you, was tied pretty late in
game). If he was going anywhere, he leaves after last
year...instead an extension was negotiated in January. Plus he
came from Assumption, I suspect he wants to stay in that area,
may only leave if BC opens up

geez. Even Holy Cross figures out a way to win.
Is it realistic to target this guy?

At the LI HS Playoffs yesterday I spoke to someone who knows the
Holy Cross HC personally and he has big New England ties so he
doubts he would leave to come here

Hemphill and Santucci are my pipe dream candidates. Let’s see
what Heilbron can do.

With Dino Babers being fired at Syracuse, I think the Orange
should really take a look at Bob Chesney. And once he starts
getting FBS programs sniffing around, he’d be foolish to move to
a low level FCS teams when he can stick at Holy Cross until an
FBS team actually pulls the trigger on a deal.

That is a pipe dream. SBU is not worthy of getting Hemphill
again anyway. He has moved on to bigger and better places in his
career. Besides. He doesn't fit the SBU way of doing business.

Can't imagine a sitting and highly successful FCS head coach
like Bob Chesney nowould leave the superb facilities and strong
football program at HC and come to Stony Brook. Not saying our
facilities are bad but I think a few commenters are out of touch
with Holy Cross the last five years or so. For one thing,
they've beaten common opponent Fordham six consecutive years,
they recruit at the highest FCS level, their stadium seats
23,000, and their indoor practice facility is FBS level.
He’s getting attention from the media regarding the Syracuse
opening.
I really can't see a highly successful and sitting FCS head
coach heading to Stony Brook.
(As an aside I've wondered if Sluka was recruited out of
Kellenberg by Stony Brook or what the story was with that one
vis a vis Stony Brook.)
