Thanks for the good words Hoosier. As mentioned earlier, you're
classy and a credit to your school. Much unlike many goofball
Syracuse football fans who have been acting like fools on their
board when they found out their team will be playing Stony Brook
in September. Root for us to beat them. We have a chance with
SB's recent recruiting class (which includes HIGH profile Big
Ten transfer Marcus Coker).

"A whole lot of ridiculous stuff would have to happen for us to
get a #15, but it's technically "possible". That said, it's
also "possible" Jessica Biel could grow tired of Justin
Timberlake, and swing by my place tonight with nothing but a
bikini and a baconator...."
Like I said, if the committee considers trend, then having won
20 of the last 22 games by that time could be worth a move from
16 to 15, especially if some surprises happen in other lower
conference tournaments.
My regards to Jessica.

The NCAA refuses to call them play in games - but thats what
they are. Wouldnt we rather get into that game at this point?
Thats a game that would be realistic to have a shot and win. I
would think for recruiting and program cache' saying youve won
in the NCAA's would be a gabillion times better than saying we
participated.

Salty, the way I see it, the real value of making the tournament
is having millions of people across the country see "Stony
Brook" when they're filling out their brackets. It gives all of
our athletic programs more name recognition to hlep with
recruiting and will most likely lead to an increase in donations
to the university. I don't see any value in going to the NCAA's
and losing in the play-in game, which is why I'd much rather be
15 seed and most likely end up 0-1 in the tournament games
rather than risk not making the tournament by playing in the
pig.

I think our RPI got a little boost last night when Northeastern
beat George Mason in a CAA matchup. Mason is a solid Mid- Major
maybe not as strong as they were a few years ago but a nice win
for the Huskies since we reap some of the benefits.

Agree, sbufan. Being a 15 seed, while certainly not very
impressive in itself, carries more status than being a 16 seed.
It demonstrates more of a sustained level of accomplishment than
just having a short winning streak in a lower-level conference
tournament. And while 15 seeds have won a first round game only
one every five years on average, it's more to hope for than one
every zillion years (the 16 seed average).

Strange game today. Very happy with the win, but it wasn't easy
by any stretch.
Maine looked like a group of guys who had to be there, but
really didn't care. The worse part was when Allison went down,
the only people who actually went to help him was the trainer
and a redshirt freshman. The rest of the team walked away,
basically ignoring him. It was a joke. I am convinced that the
only reason they showed interest in the injury was that it meant
more minutes for them.
#1 seed, auto-NIT berth, and a conference championship. Thats a
pretty good day!
On a side note, the Associated Press article was pretty good,
especially this line...
"The Seahawks (20-8, 14-2) led 30-24 at halftime, outscoring
Maine 12-2 on second-chance points."

Great game! A little to close at times but a good win. Agree
when the Maine player went down I thought we were going to have
use ou rtraining staff. Hope he is alright and nothing serious .
