Horrific start to the second half. Not sure what our issue is
with finishing down low is, but it looks bad.

The good news is that Clarke is having a solid game, after 2
subpar games. He can shoot apparently, and is showing that he
can play the point. Noll having a miserable game. Like Snoody’s
hustle.

Our shot selection is really really poor. A lot of people
standing around.
6 FOR 28 from two.

It would be a miracle if Noll's midrange fade was as lethal as
it was against St. John's. We're seeing the exact opposite now.
2-12 from 2 in the second half? Jesus

Playing devils advocate here.. what is Duquesne is just really
good? They’re 2-0, beat Charleston and put up 57 points in the
2nd half vs them. They have Princeton, Nebraska and rider next.
I’m curious now to see how they compete in those games.
With that being said, our shooting has been disgusting. Noll had
a brutal game.. starting to think the shots vs st John’s was a
fluke. Happy to see Clarke get going.

Duquesne's guards can shoot it from afar. I didn't even think
most of those were horrific defensive possessions, but every
time those just went in. Not much you can do there because you
want them to take those low-% contested 3s, they just made all
of them. And it really stopped any chance of a comeback. We got
it down to 7 in the second half.

Duquesne has some real shooters. Very impressed with their
starting guards. I’ve seen Noll now for 3 games, and he forces
way too much. Clarke also made me eat my words; he really looked
good tonight. Looked like game was too fast for Frey to get
involved; speed may be his nemesis. Glad TSM got going in 2nd
half. Games was decided in first half; missed way too many good
looks.

I agree that Duquesne knocked down a lot of shots. And TSM came
alive for us. But I still watch us and can’t help but think that
our offense is stuck in the mud yet again. Nothing is easy. Part
of that is a lack of a post presence and guys who can take guys
off the dribble. But single digit assists again. More turnovers
than assists again. Not nearly enough clean looks. The threes we
hit didn’t even feel like they were in the flow of an actual
offense. Other teams run their shooters off screens, or set
screens to spring their point guard to create. We just don’t. We
just *don’t do it.* I remember one time where Frey took it
inside, was met with resistance, kicked it out to I think Noll,
and he had missed the three. Fine. Clean look; just didn’t go
in. Give me that all day. Our threes feel like they’re taken on
a whim way too often – not quite Jenkins/Roberts level but it’s
too much. So many shots, wherever it is on the floor, feel like
guys shrug before taking it – nothing else is happening,
nobody’s moving without the ball, guess I’ll shoot. Side note:
Love Maidoh, LOVE Maidoh … but the 18-footer ain’t it. He’s wide
open for a reason.
Gotta be better.

100% Agree. I cant add anything to this except no one forces my
to watch SB BB, but every year I expect something different.
