i dont think anyone has been blaming the players but everyone
has been blaming the coach so i am not sure what he is talking
about here. Why is he so angry?

Although the numbers in the stands may be fairly accurate, the
tent was not empty as I was in it the entire game. (Why am I
even defending attendance lol) but to have literally 55 penalty
yards in the first 8 minutes is absolutely disqusting and that
falls on the coaches not enforcing discipline, no one on this
team is responsible. So done. I will NOT be returning next
season.

Dude..
I was in the tent from the beginning to the time we got asked to
leave. There was maybe 30 people there at best in the Alumni
tent. We were there probably the biggest consumer of beverages
out of everybody. None the less. This program is a complete
disgrace..

That press conference is a joke. How the heck a coach can be so
angry after a winless season is beyond me- these type of testy
answers don’t even come from Nick Sabin after a loss He should
be embarrassed and it’s a joke if he gets another shot at this
with a 500k salary.
I would love Heilbron try to spin this season into a reason to
be excited about 2024. As many have said expect some useless
slogan and the typical excuses (injuries, coordinator changes)
in the eagerly anticipated Together We Transform.
His absolute radio silence on the football program this year has
been a fireable. How are you supposed to reach your mission of
improving interest in the program if you don’t even acknowledge
the real issues in the program? What donor in their right mind
that’s not drinking the Kool-Aid will want to put any money into
football?
Sorry just venting but it’s incredibly shameful what has
happened to this program. It hurts watching it be run into the
ground.

You can parse my words but the place was empty as Hammer will
tell you. He was there too. they said there were over 5000 at
the game and it was more like 600.

I dont think heilbron will say anything since he usually says
the wrong thing. It doesnt even look like newsday was at the
press conference just the student paper kid who he was nasty to.

Kudos to the Statesman reporter for standing his ground and
continuing to fire questions at him. Very difficult if you
aren’t prepared. As a kid, very easy to rattled when a coach is
$hitting on every question like *you’re* the one who isn’t doing
his job well.
Two winning seasons in 11 years. Chuck should do the right thing
and step down. The game has passed him by, and his curmudgeonly
attitude this whole year was just a terrible look.
