tons of TOs today (22); clearing terrible (14-24). PC scores
with 1min left and then 9 seconds left, to send to OT (second
this year for us).
lost in OT, 13-12 PC.

lost 12-8 to #16 UNC. despite the result, played pretty good
defense against an ACC team. disappeared in the third quarter
but otherwise was somewhat in the game.
cant give up 35 shots to three starting attackmen, but wilk did
great in cage.

pretty bad first half hosting monmouth, down 7-3. cant win a
faceoff, can't make a save, shooting into the goalie's stick.
giving the offense top-side, poor sliding. monmouth is working
our shorties hard (who wouldnt).
the game tracker says saves are 9-0 (yikes) but im not sure
that's accurate. either way, that's the type of day it is.
monmouth scored a buzzer beater that i thought was good, but was
called off.
we havent looked good for most of the year, and this is just
more of that. were doing less with more.

lost 11-6, one of the worst uninspiring games ive seen.
credit to monmouth's goalie- a local kid and ua transfer- great
game.

Men's DI Midseason Staff Roundtable: Who's Trending Up & Down,
Surprise Players & Teams

Nick Dupuis, A, Stony Brook Dupuis is the definition of surprise
player. After transferring from UMBC and not making an
appearance for the Seawolves last season, he's now their top
point-scorer and (as of this writing) tied for sixth nationally
in points and ranked second in assists. He's become a key piece
among a veteran Stony Brook offense.[/quote]

Without further ado, let’s dive in. Because of how many
deserving prospects there are, I decided to break the class into
tiers. The tiers go as follows:
Tier 1: Blue Chip Prospects/Future All-Pro’s
Tier 2: Multiple All-Star Potential
Tier 3: Starters
Tier 4: Boom or Bust
Tier 5: Role Players

Hey folks,
Statesman Sports Editor Mike Anderson asked me to relay this for
all to read and hopefully answer.
The Statesman is the largest student-run news organization that
has been serving the Stony Brook University community since
1958. We are the go-to source for anything Stony Brook related,
including sports and student life, with a team of student
writers and editors who work around the clock to deliver
breaking news on campus.
We've covered protests, changes in policy, human interest
stories and always strive to be a voice for the members of the
Stony Brook community. This past year, we delved into how the
Israel-Palestine conflict is playing out amongst students and
international communities; broke news on major changes made in
our athletics staff; and started producing three weekly
podcasts, ranging from advice for medical students to in-depth
analyses of university athletics.
Our writers have won awards at the local, state and national
level, and our content is ever-improving with support from our
community. This year alone, we continued to bring back printed
editions after the pandemic hiatus, rebuilt our advertising
relationship with local businesses and redesigned our website.
The response from our students, faculty, administration and
alumni has been overwhelming with positivity and support, but
this has not been an easy transition.
We need your help keeping our independent press alive.
To continue providing our award-winning coverage, we need donors
like you to help keep the independent press at Stony Brook alive
with up-to-date multimedia equipment, sending our writers to
cover important events in the community and keeping our student
workers employed.
The Statesman is vital to the Stony Brook campus. We provide
checks on school administration and student government, sharing
the stories of students whose voices are calling to be heard.
We hope you consider donating to our cause.

a good cause.
end of 1Q, down to Towson 1-0 on the road. a bit sloppy on our
side, but both goaltenders really showing up. towson creates a
lot of good looks and wilk is keeping us alive.

towson.

we were in it until the very end. lost 9-8 to towson, hitting a
pipe EMO with 4 seconds left.
2nd half was similar- can't clear, lots of saves, silly
penalties were costly. throwing the ball away on offense, can't
win faceoffs enough. at one point in the 3rd we were 1/13 on
faceoffs, and the lone win was a loose ball that made it all the
way to wilk that we happened to pick up 20 seconds later. we
came alive with just 3min left to make it a game.
bonacci got hit pretty hard in the 1st, and i think button
replaced. big day for pallo, with all the doubling and early
slides, he was forced to shoot outside, but it worked out for
him. he's limping btw. lowd had a great game too- won't show
up in the stat sheet.
towson is pretty good but we are all out of sorts the past four
games now (well, UNC was partially a good showing). which is
hard to accept because most of the team is back from last year
and returns many GRs and veterans. plus additional pieces like
dupuis and gibbons.
probably now have to realistically sweep at least two of hof,
fairfield, and drexel just to have a chance at the tournament.
on the bright side, we mostly allowed towson to shoot only from
low angles, and wilk/lowd had a great day. we sometimes allow
6g in the first quarter, so surrendering 9 to a team like towson
is pretty good, and directionally, great for us.
