Week 3 is here, against a bad FBS team that has only scored
three points in two games while giving up 110. BUT, they're
still way more talented than SBU and will use this game as one
to get into form and brush off their two shit losses. If anyone
disagrees with that sentiment, I welcome their thoughts and
opinion.

Such a shame that we booked two very winnable FBS games in a row
(UMass last year) right when we reached out all-time low as a
program. If we had our 2017-18 roster we likely win both.

im not optimistic, but will say- sometimes teams surprise you.
when you least expect it.
in other words, teams are usually inconsistent. let's hope
that's the case here!
and there's always the middle ground- when you're arguably
outmatched like this, a good showing is somewhat of a victory,
no? if we play Ark State and lose... 30-27, won't most be happy
with that???

I think we know what to expect this weekend and small moral
victories aren't it. This is a matchup between two prettyy
crappy teams. The talent at Arkansas State should be better than
what we have so this one will likely be a blowout by Arkansas
State that will be wanting a win especially against an 0-2 FCS
team.
Heilbron has put the program where it is. I dont think it gets
any improvement as long as he is here. Anyone falling for the
rebuilding year that their calling it is gullible. I feel bad
for the players and coaches.

You guys all know that the SB collective is basically raising a
little bit of money for basketball and not football right? That
tells you all you need to know about the fan base, the AD and
whats what with SB football.

Didn’t the Kehoe Family give SBU $3 million dollars for the two
new scoreboards in the stadium and I haven’t heard of any big
donations for basketball unless you can enlighten us

Hi.
Do you know what NIL is? A scoreboard doesn't bring in talented
players to win games. The guy who donated the initial gift that
they have to match also donated money to basketball so they
could fly to games. That scoreboard is going to be used for
graduation and womens and mens soccer and lacrosse. Those teams
win more games in the stadium than the football team in the last
six years.
Whats the spread on this saturdays game?

Stony Brook football looks for first win of season at FBS

points per game, which is the third-worst mark in the Coastal

the back end of its defense, Stony Brook is allowing a
league-worst 356.5 passing yards per game on a 63.4% completion
rate and 10.0 yards per attempt. The unit is allowing 44 more
yards per game than the second-worst pass defense in the CAA.
Although the secondary has struggled, the defensive front has
thrived. The Seawolves’ front seven has totaled eight sacks thus
far, which is the second-most in the CAA. Seven different
defenders have gotten to opposing quarterbacks. Defensive end
Andy Nwaoko leads the group with two sacks, both of which he
recorded last week at Rhode Island. Defensive tackle Dyshier
Clary has also contributed to a sack in each game, recording one
versus Delaware and sharing one last week.
“We’ve played in these games before,” Priore said. “There’s not
a ton of difference between the talent levels outside of […] a
little bit of the speed of the game. We’ll be ready.”
Arkansas State’s woeful defense presents an opportunity for
Stony Brook’s struggling offense to get right. The Seawolves are
fourth-worst in the CAA in yards per game (287.5), points per
game (13.5) and third-down offense (24%).
Stony Brook’s offensive line has been the highlight of the unit.
They have allowed just two sacks in 73 dropbacks while opening
lanes for the running backs. Behind the Seawolves’ rebuilt
offensive line, they are averaging 5.0 yards per carry (not
including sack yards) and 136.5 yards per game.

NIL is when players get paid for their likeness and name like
when a local business comes along and pays them. But let’s face
it big name businesses are going after FBS Players not FCS
Players.
If I didn’t know better I’d swear you’re hoping that this team
not only loses but also shuts down the football program because
I have never read one positive thing that you have written.
