When should SB consider getting rid of the football program?

Looking at another bad season ahead most likely the 6th losing
season when should SB look at getting rid of the football
program? After five losing seasons the coach has been extended
and the stadium needs a lot of work. The fans stopped showing up
years ago. Why does SB continue with the football program is a
question that has to be asked.

I'd consider it if it meant we could become an all out
basketball power the way a Gonzaga has been, but we wouldn't
       even execute that well.....
Heilbron and these dookie coaches all need to be cleaned out.
       That will rejuvenate the programs.

Never because if they win people will show up maybe not with the
current staff but eventually with stadium renovations, a new
staff, national recruiting and the right marketing this could be
       a fun place to be

       Not yet anyway.
Let's see where Dr. McInnis wants to go with the athletic
program and who she eventually appoints as AD. Nothing happens
       until she does.
It makes me think Shawn renewed Priore because he knew he'd have
difficulty hiring a coach as long as he had no contract. Keep in
mind that's just speculation, thinking out loud. I don't know
       any more than anyone else.
Still, judging from what I do see, no coaching changes unless
       somebody quits.
I personally see no reason to drop the program. Instead I
continue to see opportunity with it. But it has to be
       competitive at least.
Hofstra dumped football to free up money to establish a medical
       school. SB already has one.

Because this state is a cash cow for politicians. SUNY does not
care about you and me, or the fans. It is all about the good old
       boys club.
I could go on and on, but I really don't care anymore.
My son graduated SBU in May and I am officially finished
       supporting anything SBU

The football team has spiraled down under Heilbron. It has been
a five year disaster and they are looking at a win or maybe two
this season coming up. If the president keeps Heilbron its over.
       a disaster.

I'm not knocking her because shes the president but I think
after three years we have a good indication that the president
doesnt have the same goals and desires as the very few fans that
SB football has. We are here with this same AD and coach. I dont
expect her to make a sweeping change and it is like she is okay
with Heilbron being okay not having a contract for the past
year. There is nothing to get excited about with this football
program and there is nothing on the horizon to give the few fans
any hope. We got the best kid on Long Island last year and he
was ruined by this staff. He either never should have been
expected to play at the FCS level (thats on the coaches) or is
good enough to play at FCS level but was ruined by poor
coaching. Either way its on the coaches. They'll do the same
thing if they get this kid from Saint Anthonys. Ruin him.
And we havent even talked about NIL. If you drop football youre
NIL can focus on basketball. But again since its Heilbrons dept
we have lacrosse people running the NIL and really no indication
of what theyre doing. Its really weird.

I believe the 2023 football team win at least 6 games because of
the following; new coordinators on offense and defense, influx
of FBS Players (10), better skilled players than last year,
special teams group is stronger and schedule is easier than last
       year.
This is my opinion and I respect yours so show some respect for
       mine.

I respect opinions but i dont appreciate your threats which get
threads shut down. I dont think the schedule is easier. I hope
they win at least six games but i dont see them winning more
than two. I think they are 0-4 when they play Morgan State. The
only two games i think they have a slim chance to win are Morgan
State and maybe Monmouth. These FBS players are here for a
reason and thats usually injuries, discipline or talent issues.
Adding a qb coach with actual qb coach experience was a good
move he did okay at Maine but he has very few options talentwise
at sbu. Time will tell but a lot of people think dropping
football and focusing on basketball where the real money is
something to think about. The coach and ad have done a lot to
bring the program to five losing seasons. it seems the coach
changes qbs lately more than his under wear.

I don’t go after anyone I just speak the truth that I believe
in. I think you also got to take responsibility for threads
getting shut down. Think about it before you started posting on
this sight there were very few threads getting shut down and
then you come on and things get out of hand.
