The player that I really liked has committed to SBU today and
that is Sebastian Regis DL from East Islip. When one of the top
evaluators in NY (Brian Hawkins gives him rave reviews you know
he’s special. I mentioned this before he’s the first lineman to
win the prestigious Hansen Award in Suffolk County in 38 years

this is good for Stony Brook but I just don't understand the
lack of offers for this kid. How could he have no other CAA
offers? No schools from the MAC? I guess FBS schools just
can't get over the height issue. It is just sad. Was hoping
that east islip alum Panagos at Kansas would have scooped him
up. I guess time will tell if the FBS just missed on this kid.
Tyler Bolesta better watch out. His bench press record will be
falling in the next year or 2.

By the way he’s a two way player and he could make a very good
HB and lead the way for the RB.
I believe both Kansas and Buffalo both said he could walk on

[/quote] I noticed that lack of FBS/FCS offers too. At this
point we will see that situation (from high schoolers, incoming
portal guys, and our own portal guys deciding to return) as we
work to fill out a roster.

He’s a full scholarship player and is expected to play as a true
freshman so don’t estimate his height as a handicap and as a
junior in high school he won the NYS Wrestling Championship.

I’m sure it’s due to his size, but great pick up for
       The Brook.

Cosh is off to a good start- keeping talented LI players at home
is integral to the success of the program. You want LI coaches
to have faith that their players will be valued. Priore
basically made most of the LI players PWO which is not really a
       formula for developing trust.
I don’t follow HS football as much as ya’ll but Regis is built
like a tank. Hopefully he develops into a run stuffer down the
       road.

I’m working on getting Cosh in front of the Nassau and Suffolk
County Coaches Association sometime in March and he’s very
       receptive of doing it

Campi, where does the staff plan to play Regis?
I'd like to see him on the defensive line, but definitely easy
to imagine him as h back as you said.
Also I can't believe he blocked 4 extra points last season.
       Crazy

Suffolk County DIII is the strongest of all the Conferences on
LI except for the CHSFL and Regis dominated every game on both
sides of the line. I could see him playing NG as he’s so quick
off the snap that it’s hard to block him and that makes him an
excellent run stopper as well as getting to the QB. With the
defense so bad last year I would not be surprised if he gets to
       play as a true freshman.
