“Should SBU be focused primarily on academics, absolutely, and
of course” and “Sports should be just as important as every
other subject, topic” are contradictory statements.

Hey guys can we keep our threads on topic. If you want to talk
about Heilbron's leadership or how political leanings might
affect athletics, please start a new thread ideally under the
'Conference and Athletics' section.

Looks like Cosh offered a bunch of Merrickmack transfers
yesterday. Merrimack is losing a lot of talent with their coach
moving on to the Holy Cross job.

Moderators, can we please clean up the political nonsense that
the same culprits spew over and over? The ad-hominems and using
liberal as a pejorative term is a waste of time in a sports
forum.
I’m close to leaving this forum. Other than a few posters, the
only quality of posters here is downhill.

Not sure if Case has one more year left or not, but saw SBU
offered a few grad transfer QBs recently. Found that very
interesting, especially if Case has another year. And yes, I
know he played terribly.

I believe he has 2 more years left. So very interesting. Did
they sign anyone else other than Menghi so far?

Albany's Poffenbarger transferred to Miami. But they just
replaced him with Wisconsin's Myles Burkett.
It does not reflect great on us if THAT school is able to get
B1G QBs.

Albany looks attractive to a QB buried on a BIG 10 depth chart
who wants to play for a good program. (Plus, given his Wisconsin
roots, the weather is not an issue).
And Poff's experience shows if you do well in Albany the big
boys will notice.
This really has nothing to do with SBU's program as we've gone
the opposite direction.
