Case was a 3-star recruit out of high school, but the fact that
he was so far buried down the Buffalo depth chart and didn't
even see any garbage time at QB isn't the most encouraging.
There's a lot of FBS transfers on this team.

And transfers coming to SB that do well are rare. lots of times
they have injuries before they get here otherwise they will be
somewhere else.

Casey Case was VERY lightly recruited coming out of high school:
Casey Case came to Buffalo from Winter Park High School in
Florida. He had an amazing senior season that saw him throw
2,265 yards and 22 touchdowns.
But he was an under-the-radar recruit, garnering a few offers
from some FCS schools and Lance Leipold in Buffalo.

Case wasn’t handed the starting QB job he earned it based on his
performance in the Spring and the Summer so far. All the QB’s
started from scratch when the new OC was hired. I pay no
attention to Stars because the NFL is full of players who had no
stars when they came out of HS what I care about is can Case
lead us to more wins than losses.

So very true about the NFL having low, no, or many low-star
players. The difference is. In the NFL you have coaches that
know how to make a good athlete better. In college football,
many coaches don't have that ability. In SBU football. They have
a history of taking a good star player and ruining him and
taking away any athletic abilities he may have had in High
school.

I want to see what the new OC does with the SBU offense before I
pass judgement

This is a reasonable sentiment but it doesnt change the history
of the head coach. Look at last years qb disaster. its tough for
fans to get excited about a sb season with the coach who cant
win and makes decisions that make everyone scratch their head.
Like Heilbron.

Agreed. The few times I saw Maine I was impressed with their
offensive scheme.

I agree the program has been on a decline the last couple of
season, and yes it usually falls on the head coach, but have
anyone considered the fact we haven’t been able to keep a
coaching staff due to not paying them enough to establish a
successful program. I have seen plenty of coaches come and go
some who are now in very big time places.
I plan on attending a couple practices and scrimmages to get a
feel for this years team.

You have to be kidding. Priore rakes in over $500000 a year. He
is one of the top paid coaches in FCS. Why is anyones guess. They
haven't been on decline the past couple of season. They have had
five losing seasons in a row with two wins last year. The AD is
a joke and the head coach is a joke but they are laughing last
with their high salaries and secret extensions.
Establish a successful program? Hofstra did a lot better with
some of those same coaches at the same salary level.
