Coach P just announced his starting QB for the 2023 season it’s
Casey Case
He was very lightly recruited out of high school, spent 3 years
buried on the University of Buffalo’s depth chart, he’s 6-6, and
has thrown zero (0) college game passes. Should we be
optimistic?
Zero passes after three years, huh? Priore is grasping at
straws.
That should tell you something. Chucky can’t get a halfway
decent QB to ever come here to play under his watch. Everybody
is either a project or a total unknown.

It's not like there was much of a choice. There are four total
QB's on the roster, one of whom is a walk-on. And of the two
returnees, one has thrown four total passes, none of which were
completed, and the other threw more INTs than TD's last season,
and had less than a 50% completion rate. I'm not knocking the
QB's, even though it may seem that way. I only mean to say, that
it's a shit situation, and Case at least has practiced against
more talented players over the last three years. I'd be shocked
if her performed well at SBU, but hey, crazier things have
happened... Like a secret extension for an asshole head coach

In my opinion Case and the other QB’s had all Spring and Summer
to learn the new offense and he picked it up better and faster
then the other candidates however if he falls flat on his face
then he will be replaced. Unless I’m wrong weren’t there 4 QB’s
here all Spring and Summer he showed he was ready to lead so I
see nothing wrong with this decision. By the way SBU will
probably scholarship a QB for the 2024 Class

Hoping that Case turns out to be the guy and that SB surprises
everyone in the CAA this year, but I thought the reason McKee
transferred was because Priore was going to start Bryden this
year over him. For one, I would have loved to have seen what
McKee could have done running the Maine offense.

One of the concerns I have regarding the 6-6 Case is that he
does appear a bit slow-footed on his high school tapes. He may
have picked up quickness in his three years of practicing and
working out at Buffalo but, if not, there may be MANY breakdowns
on offense (given our multitude of issues) and a slow-footed QB
will be immediately exposed...even given our run-heavy offense.

SBU, which normally is a run-heavy team, failed miserably at
that last season. Less than 1,500 rushing yards gained on the
season, 1,163 when factoring the yards lost. That number ranked
dead last in the CAA in '22. Stony Brook also had the fewest
rushing TDs, 6, with the next lowest being 9 by Hampton. That
also means they had the lowest average of YPG. On the bright
side, the defense gave up the third-fewest YPG, but the
difference between the opponent's and SBU's YPG was 32.8. The
run didn't work last year. Passing didn't work last year. Shit,
I'd bet the damn markers Chuck used to draw plays didn't work
last year. And I'm not blaming the players. I believe it starts
at the top and trickles down.

I just find it weird that fall camp hasnt started and a starter
has been named. What I'm saying is, i'm calling BS on it. It
tells me that you probably dont have much talent at the
position. If Case does **** the bed in fall camp you now look
like a fool naming a different starter. Nothing new when it
comes to how this coach deals with QB's. Its a weird call to
make before camp even opens.

Case was a 3-star recruit out of high school, but the fact that
he was so far buried down the Buffalo depth chart and didn't
even see any garbage time at QB isn't the most encouraging.
There's a lot of FBS transfers on this team.
