Not a whole lot of meat in Geno's 10-minute segment on media
day. Goodman and Dauster spent too much time proving they were
comedians and BFFs with Geno and quickly realized they were way
behind already. If there's anything I took from it, he said this
year's team would beat the 2021 team that was the AE preseason
favorite, for what that's worth.
We were picked to finish ninth in the preseason coaches poll – I
think we'll be better than that. TSM was named to the preseason
second team.

Pitino's group is going to be really really good I think.

I popped in. If knockout is any indication, we can shoot it OK.
If warmups and the three-point shootout are any indication, Frey
can really shoot it. Space is healthy and looked good but I
can’t help but think he redshirts.

Another preview:

Nothing too too crazy. Geno did sing the praises of Maidoh and
Snoddy defensively.
He also added to his track record of hyperboles.
“Everybody’s going to tell you how good the league is, and it
sounds like a broken record. I’m going to tell you that coaching
in it, it’s as good as any college basketball league there is.
When I was in the Missouri Valley Conference, Wichita State was
ranked No. 1 in the country, Creighton had the national player
of the year (Doug McDermott), Northern Iowa went to three or
four Sweet 16s. It was an elite league with great teams, and
this is an elite league with great teams.” [emoji849]

So our starter's crushed Manhattans starters by 20 in the first
half last weekend and now we played Fairfield today and beat
them
@DalyDoseOfHoops - I’m told Stony Brook handled Fairfield in a
secret scrimmage today, 101-68 the final. No stats to pass along
other than the final score, sadly.

Considering we've struggled with Fairfield the last few years,
that's good news, though the team is probably in a state of
chaos with the sudden Young/Dougher ousting before the season.

St. John’s down 50-37 to Pace with 15 minutes left. Getting
outrebounded 34-21. To be fair, no Dingle or Soriano, which I
actually think is significant. Also: it’s Pace’s Super Bowl.
