He got an extension not that long ago from this same AD. I would
say that results under him were subpar, but something seems
fishy if it ended so abruptly this close to the season. Hope
everything's OK with him.

“ Stags assistant coach Bryan Dougher was also removed from the
school’s website this morning, but there are no official
statements from the school regarding his dismissal.”
“ UPDATE
“Fairfield assistant coach James Johns is also on leave pending
an investigation into the incident in Costa Rica, per source.”

because of his performance on the court. Fairfield will get a
head start on their coaching search and they’ll have a healthy
candidate pool to choose from. The university has heavily
invested in the basketball program in recent years, turning it
into one of the premiere job opportunities in the conference.
They opened a brand new arena last season and the NIL collective
is strong for the level of competition. As we reported in
September, “A pair of UConn assistants have their eyes on this
one.”

For clarity amidst speculation, neither Jay Young or Bryan
Dougher were involved in any inappropriate behavior. That is
factual. The rest of the matter is nowhere as clear, but I
assume will play out over the next days/weeks.

Are you representing them, LOL ?? Speculation (not mine, but on
Twitter), that it involved an assistant soliciting a prostitute,
and subsequent cover-ups. People don't resign from their dream
jobs or get fired for no reason; there is obviously more to the
story that will eventually come out.

Pre-season polls bode well for our strength of schedule but
perhaps not our wins and losses. Rider's the prohibitive
favorite in the MAAC, receiving eight of 11 first-place votes.
Yale received 14 of 16 first-place votes in the Ivy. Even
Duquesne is better than I'm used to, ranking fourth in the
15-team A-10.
We'll be dogs in the first three games obviously, but I'm
curious if we'll be favored at home against Rider, which has a
similar gauntlet to open the season with Marquette, Nebraska and
Duquesne before they come here.
For those who missed it, you can see full coverage of CAA media
day tomorrow beginning at 9am on the Field of 68 YouTube and X.
Men until noon; women thereafter. Geno's on at 9:15.

With this group, I suspect we get there and he's renewed; just a
hunch.

The KP ranking has me a little down on the season. Unfortunately
KP pre-season rankings have been fairly accurate over the last
decade. Over the last 10 years our pre-season KP ranking has
only been off by 29 spots on average from our end of season KP
ranking. If we're in that 250-300 range it will be a long
season.
Year: Pre -> Post (change)
15: 133->130 (+3)
16: 87->94 (-7)
17: 199 ->213 (-14)
18: 197 -> 223 (-26)
19: 221 -> 166 (+55)
20: 229 -> 192 (+37)
21: 246 -> 236 (+10)
22: 184 -> 251 (-67)
23: 287 -> 328 (-41)
24: 276 -> ?

Even assuming the biggest jump (+55) it still means more than
200 teams are better. Definitely not appropriate for a major
national university team.

So we have 3 National tv games. 2 home 1 away. Hofstra is a 9pm
game at our place on CBS, along with a home game vs UNCW.. cbs
away game will be vs northeastern
I actually like the 9pm game vs Hofstra.
